BTS Confirmed in Lineup of Performers at 2022 Grammy Awards
On March 15 local time, the Recording Academy presents the highly-recognized Grammy Awards. They had finally announced the first lineup of artists set to to perform in this year's upcoming ceremony.
According to the Recording Academy, taking center stage at "Music's Biggest Night" of the year is record-breaking K-Pop superstars, BTS. A star-studded lineup which includes Grammy nominees Lil Nas X with Jack Harlow, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Brandi Carlile, and Brothers Osborne is expected to follow.
Just like the rest of the performers who have been announced, BTS is also in the running to win their first-ever Grammy Award.
This year, BTS and their 2021 summer single, "Butter," is nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. This marks the seven-piece boy band's second Grammy nod in the category, following "Dynamite" in the previous year.
Back at the 2021 Grammy Awards, BTS performed their nominated song "Dynamite" at the ceremony with a pre-recording. As "Butter" has been nominated this year, it can be expected that the record-breaking song will be performed at the ceremony.
In addition, this will also mark BTS' first time performing at the Grammy Awards in-person. The previous year was riddled with the rise of COVID-19 positive cases, and live events having transitioned online.
BTS will be going up against top contenders in the category, such as Coldplay's "Higher Power," Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga's "I Get a Kick Out of You," Doja Cat featuring SZA's "Kiss Me More," and Justin Bieber and Benny Blanco's "Lonely."
Meanwhile, the 2022 Grammy Awards is set to take place live from the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas. This year's ceremony will be hosted by Trevor Noah. It will be broadcasted live on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at 5pm PT/8pm ET through CBS. Live streaming will also be made available and on demand on Paramount+.

BTS to Hold 'Permission to Dance On Stage' in Las Vegas
In other news, BTS will be busy attending the Grammy Awards in Las Vegas. Additionally, they will be holding the Las Vegas leg of their "Permission to Dance On Stage" concert.
"Permission to Dance On Stage" began back in October 2021 with an online concert. It was held at the Olympic Stadium in Seoul with no live audience in attendance due to COVID-19 restrictions.
From November 27 to 28 and December 1 to 2, BTS held an offline and online concert at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles for four nights.
More recently, BTS concluded a three night offline and online concert at the Olympic Stadium on March 10, 12, and 13. This is the group's first live concert in South Korea after two years.
Meanwhile, BTS will be holding their concert at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas from April 8 to 9 and April 15 to 16. The last day will be available for online live streaming. The concert will also be broadcasted live on a big screen at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in a "Live Play" event.
