KCON 2022 Premiere: Cities, Dates, More You Need to Know for the Return of the Largest Hallyu Festival
On March 17, CJ ENM officially announced the return of its KCON series with offline events after more than two years since September 2019. The festival was held online since 2020 due to the pandemic.

The series will begin with its "KCON 2022 Premiere" event, which will take place in May in a total of three cities. First, it will meet fans in Seoul, South Korea from May 7 to 8 at the CJ ENM Center.
Then, two shows will be held in Tokyo, Japan at the Chiba Makuhari Messe on May 14 and 15. The last stop will be in Chicago, USA where two shows will also be held at the Rosemont Theater from May 20 to 21.
Following the premiere event, KCON 2022 will head to Los Angeles, California in August, and return to Tokyo, Japan in October.
CJ ENM plans to make major changes in the largest Hallyu festival in the world to mark its 10th anniversary this year. Starting this 2022, KCON will be an event open to both in-person audience members and online global fans.
The Korean entertainment agency said, "We plan to develop it into a hybrid festival that both offline and digital audiences can enjoy."

At the time CJ ENM first held KCON in California, USA back in 2012, the K-Culture festival gathered more than 1.1 million fans from nine cities around the world, including the ones in North America, the Middle East, and Europe.
Then, when the festival had five online events ("KCON:TACT") over the past two years, a whopping total of 22.45 million digital viewers were counted.
Meanwhile, the lineup of performers for the upcoming KCON 2022 Premiere is yet to be announced, so stay tuned.

KCON:TACT HI 5 Recap
The latest event of KCON is the "KCON:TACT HI 5," which is the fifth online concert of the "KCON:TACT" series that began in 2020.
KCON:TACT HI 5 took place from September 18 to 26. It was broadcast live via Mnet's YouTube channel and KCON's YouTube channel. It also aired in South Korea via TVING, in Japan via PIA, and in the Philippines via Smart Communications.

Day 1 featured performances of AB6IX, Highlight, Park Jihoon, Weeekly, and WEi, while Day 2 saw stages of Dreamcatcher, Ghost9, Kwon Eunbi, and Stray Kids.
On Day 3, ATEEZ, Ciipher, MAMAMOO, and Woodz (Cho Seungyoun) met the fans. Day 4 of KCON:TACT HI 5 consisted of performances of BTOB, JO1, Kim Jaehwan, Purple Kiss, and TO1. Finally, Day 5 was filled with stages of ITZY, ONF, Rain, T1419, and The Boyz.
Aside from the main concert, a Meet and Greet event was also held to give the artists and fans the chance to communicate.
