'Single's Inferno' Cha Hyun Seung Names Two K-pop Idols Who Persuaded Him to Appear on the Show

'Single's Inferno' Star Cha Hyun Seung Says Sunmi, BTOB Changsub Affected His Decision to Appear on the Show

On March 16, fashion magazine Singles shared a new video to its YouTube channel and it's about their interview with Cha Hyun Seung, who previously appeared on the Netflix reality dating show "Single's Inferno."

Before he appeared as one of the "Single's Inferno" contestants, Cha Hyun Seung is an established backup dancer for several K-pop artists.

One time, he went viral for being an excellent dance partner of Sunmi during the latter's performance at the 2018 Waterbomb Festival. He also gained attention for his impressive physique at that time.

Additionally, a fancam of him as a backup dancer for Sunmi's "Lalalay" on the Korean music show "Inkigayo" caught people's attention, accumulating one million views.

As Cha has been working with Sunmi since her solo debut in 2014, it's no doubt that he has become closer to the female idol. In fact, it turns out that Sunmi influenced his decision to appear on the Netflix reality dating show.

Apart from the female soloist, another K-pop idol convinced him to accept the offer.

During the interview with Singles, Cha Hyun Seung shared the reason why he decided to join "Single's Inferno" as a contestant despite initially turning down the offer.

He said, "When they first reached out to me, I didn't plan to appear [on the show]. However, Sunmi and BTOB Changsub told me to just try it out, so I finally decided to participate [in the show]."

In addition to Sunmi, Cha has also worked with BTOB Changsub and his fellow members in the past. The backup dancer even revealed in one of his YouTube videos that he works out with Changsub.

If it weren't for Sunmi and BTOB Changsub, "Single's Inferno" Cha Hyun Seung wouldn't be as popular as he is today.

Meanwhile, Cha also unveiled during the "Singles" interview that he is gearing up to make his debut as an actor, although he is still not sure when.

Sunmi and BTOB Changsub's Recent Activities

Meanwhile, Sunmi collaborated with EQUAL X Spotify Singles to release a new song in commemoration of International Women's Day.

On March 8, the female soloist dropped the single "Oh Sorry Ya," which is available exclusively on Spotify. The track is part of the EQUAL X Spotify Singles project that aims to encourage female artists. Sunmi participated as a co-producer of the song.

As for BTOB Changsub, he and his fellow members made their first full-group comeback this past Feb. 21 with their third studio album "Be Together." This album, which features the title track "The Song," sold a total of 113,430 copies in the first week, becoming their best-selling album in the first week of release.
