PSY Update 2022: Where is 'Gangnam Style' Singer Now?

Perhaps, PSY is one of the most memorable K-pop artists of his generation. In 2012, his life changed following the release of his hit song, "Gangnam Style." But this wasn't PSY's first single.

In fact, "Gangnam Style" was included in his sixth album, "PSY6." This means that he had been in the industry for quite some time.

Following the massive success of "Gangnam Style," PSY became a household name in the world of K-pop not only in South Korea but also in other parts of the world.

On Dec. 21, 2012, PSY's "Gangnam Style" became the first K-pop track to reach 1 billion views on YouTube.

He has since been dethroned by BTS with their hit song, "Dynamite" but PSY will forever be known as the first K-pop idol to reach this milestone.

Following the success of "Gangnam Style," PSY released other songs like "Father" and "Gentleman." They were also hits but they never became as successful as "Gangnam Style."

Now, some K-pop fans might be wondering what happened to PSY following his two releases, as well as his 2015 collaboration with Ed Sheeran.

Where Is PSY Now?

In 2019, PSY founded a music agency known as P-Nation. The agency handles the careers of K-pop idols like HyunA, DAWN, Crush, Heize, Penomeco, and more.

He is still married to his wife, Yoo Hye-Yeon. They have been blessed with twin daughters.

PSY still resides in South Korea, and he was featured in CBS' "PSY All Night Stand," where he made an important announcement.

Will PSY Release New Music Soon?

During the special broadcast of some of the highlights of his career, PSY announced that he would be making a comeback this year.

PSY is now busy preparing for his ninth studio album. This would be his first in the last two years. However, the official release date has yet to be announced.

On top of this, PSY also told his fans that he plans to hold a concert this year.

PSY is very active on his social media accounts. On Thursday, March 17, he teased a possible collab of three of his artists from P-Nation.

On Instagram, fans are speculating on the possibility of HyunA, DAWN, and Jessi working together.

Others also believe that the three faceless artist photos that PSY is holding are his new talents.

On Jan. 7, PSY also announced on his Instagram account that his hit song, "Gangnam Style" already reached 4.3 million views on YouTube.

He also uses the platform to update fans with his personal life.
