Long breaks don't always mean disbandment. Here are groups who went through long hiatuses and returned (or will return!) to K-pop in 2022.
This article will include groups with speculated comebacks. But, first, let's start with the groups who made a comeback after a long period of inactivity.
NATURE
On January 24, NATURE made a comeback after a year and a half of inactivity with the special album "Rice Rica." Their last musical release was on June 17, 2020, with the third single album, "Nature World: Code M." Sadly, Sunshine was not present for their 2022 comeback, as she is on hiatus due to a leg injury.
TREASURE
Before TREASURE's first mini-album, "The Second Step: Chapter One," was released on February 15, 2022, the group did not make a comeback for over a year. Their last release was their first studio album, "The First Step: Treasure Effect," on January 11, 2021.
BIGBANG
BIGBANG is slated to make their first comeback in four years on April 5. Not much is known about the comeback, though YG Entertainment is speculated to release more teasers as the release date draws closer. Their last musical release was the single "Flower Road" in March 2018.
(G)I-DLE
After a year and two months of inactivity as a group, (G)I-DLE released the studio album "I NEVER DIE." Before this, their last official comeback was in January 2021 with the mini-album "I Burn."
VICTON
VICTON made their first official comeback after a year of inactivity on January 18, 2022, with their third single album "Chronograph." Their previous release before the said single album was their first studio album, "Voice: The Future is Now," on January 11, 2021.
