Rain Unveils That J.Y. Park Told Him to Undergo Plastic Surgery - Here Is Why
On March 24, episode 2 of Rain's "Season B Season" (Season 2) was uploaded to YouTube, and the Stray Kids members appeared as the guests.
At the beginning of the episode, Rain asked the boys to introduce themselves one by one in any way they like. While some of them showed their adorable sides, the others confidently displayed their sexy images.

During the time they all sat down to talk, one staff member commented, "I heard Hyunjin sort of looks like Rain back in the 'Bad Guy' days."
After hearing this, the rapper shyly replied, "Don't do this to me."
Stray Kids Bang Chan chimed in, "When I was 16 years old, everyone used to tell me that I looked like you [when I was still] in Australia."
Rain responded, "Bang Chan is like a mixture of me and [2PM] Chansung. I can see that side"
The "Season B Season" host then recalled how he looks during his youth. "But when I was young, everyone said I'm ugly," he stated.

As a matter of fact, Rain was rejected by a total of 19 agencies before he auditioned and was accepted into JYP Entertainment. YG Entertainment is one of these companies.
In a Discovery Channel documentary called "Discovering Hip Korea," Rain revealed that he was turned down numerous times because of his looks.
He shared, "In fact, I was told after one audition that my singing and dancing was great but I did not make it because I didn't have double eyelids."
For context, having double eyelids is one of the most favored visual preferences in the K-pop industry.

Although his looks were not the standard for a K-pop idol, Rain got into JYP Entertainment. J.Y. Park was already certain that he would become a top star ever since they met.
However, it turns out that J.Y. Park was also concerned about Rain's looks.
In episode 2 of "Season B Season," Rain told Stray Kids that he almost got plastic surgery.
When Han asked, "How come?" he replied, "Jinyoung (J.Y. Park) told me to do so."
He continued, "Honestly, I'm not that good looking. But, it's a standard for success. Even if you look like that," making the Stray Kids members crack up.

Rain's Latest Solo Comeback
While he continuously hosts his YouTube show "Season B Season," Rain also releases new songs and albums every now and then.
On March 3, 2021, Rain released his second mini-album "Pieces by Rain." This is his first mini-album in four years since his first one titled "My Life" in 2017.
"Pieces by Rain" consists of a total of five tracks, four of which are collab songs such as "Magnetic" (feat. GOT7 Jackson), "Why Don't We" (feat. Chungha), "Come Over" (feat. TAG, Keita, and Won of Ciipher) and "Switch to Me (with J.Y. Park). The other song is called "Aurora."
