Former Jewelry Park Jung Ah, Oh My Girl Seung Hee Opened Up on Difficulties of Girl Groups
On March 27, the statement of Heechul regarding girl groups piqued the interest of K-pop fans during the broadcast of JTBC's "Knowing Bros."
In particular, on the Mar. 26th episode of the reality program, female idols including former Jewelry Park Jung Ah, After School Kahi and Oh My Girl Seung Hee and Mimi appeared as special guests.
On this day, Park Jung Ah shocked viewers when she revealed the hardships of controlling her period while actively promoting Jewelry. She went on by revealing that "jealousy" between members is inevitable.
Seo Janghoon comforted her by saying that he would also be jealous when other friends besides him do well in the same team, followed by Seung Hee's reply that it's not like that and explained trivial matters of feeling jealous such as losing more weight than members.
Just then, Kim Heechul, a senior idol who's active as Super Junior, voiced out his sympathy with girl groups. He said:
"What's really hard for a girl group is that when they gain weight, people would tell them they gain weight. But if they lost weight, people would emphasize how they lost weight."
The "Sorry, Sorry" singer also complained about the beauty standards on girl groups, adding:
"If a female idol got prettier, they become a hot topic (positively), but if they are not feeling well, they are cursed even though they were in a bad condition."

"Heechul is really good."
"I don't always agree with Heechul, but this time he's completely right."
"He's always unfazed even when pointing out issues like this."

Along with Heechul's remark, Taeyeon, the leader and main vocalist of Girls' Generation, also drew attention for her statement in the past.
The female icon, just like Heechul, pointed out this issue and said:
"When you're fat, you're fat, if you are skinny, they curse you that you look sick."
On the same day, the female idol talked about the restrictions from companies they experienced during their trainee days.
Starting with Oh My Girl, Seung Hee and Mimi confessed they were not allowed to wear makeup and short outfits. They were also banned to date for four years or else they will be kicked out.
Park Jung Ah then looked back at her generation and said:
"In my time, I practiced wearing high tops and tight pants. They Look at your figure, and weighed you once a week and kept you cool."
Kahi then hilariously revealed the ban when she was promoting with Mamadol.
"Pregnancy is not allowed. When I first practiced, I practiced the dance genre during the dance mission. It's a very sexy move. We shouldn't practice at home, we shouldn't look sexy to our husband because we can't pregnant. "
