Last week, the K-pop community saw four of their favorite oppa's enlist in their mandatory military enlistment and perform their duties for South Korea. Keep on reading to learn who they are.
1. Block B P.O.
On March 28, Block B member P.O. officially enlisted for the military. He joined the Marine Corps. His agency, Artist Company, first announced that he would be enlisting in the military on February 10.
P.O. had volunteered for the Marine Corps out of his own volition. However, for the safety of reporters and supporters, P.O. did not reveal his enlistment location and time.
Before he officially enlisted, P.O. completed the play he is currently starring in and completed his activities. Before he needed to enlist, P.O. was filming for tvN's "Amazing Saturday" every week.
P.O. will train for seven weeks before officially joining the Marine Corps. He is the last member of Block B to enlist in the military.
2. DAY6 Wonpil
DAY6 member Wonpil officially enlisted in his mandatory military service on March 28. According to Wonpil, he would be enlisting in the navy. The male idol first announced his choice to enlist through a live stream on February 24.
There, he revealed that he chose to apply for the navy because it was the fastest available option. In addition, he is the final member of DAY6 to enlist in the military. He wanted to minimize the group's hiatus by enlisting as quickly as possible.
As a final farewell before his military service, Wonpil held a solo concert on March 27, 2022.
3. SF9 Youngbin
On March 29, SF9's leader Youngbin officially enlisted as an active duty soldier for the ROK Army 27's Infantry Division. He first announced his plans to enlist through his company, FNC Entertainment, on February 14, 2022.
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, FNC Entertainment did not hold any public events for his enlistment. Fans were prohibited from attending the private site, as many military personnel will be gathered in the area.
FNC Entertainment thanks the fans for loving Youngbin and asks for their support as Younbin completes his military service.
4. Golden Child Daeyeol
Golden Child's leader Daeyeon officially enlisted in the military as an active-duty soldier part of the ROK Army's 3rd Infantry Division, also known as the "White Skull Division."
He first expressed his desire to enlist in the military during Golden Child's concert in early February. He informed fans that he would earnestly apply to defend the nation. On March 21, Woollim Entertainment officially announced when he would enlist. However, they urged fans not to hold any events on this day to prevent the spread of COVID-19. They also asked fans not to attend the private sites.
Daeyeon also penned a handwritten letter for the fans, where he reassured them that he would be happy and safe.
