Former Stray Kids Woojin to Play Main Role in New HBO Max Series
On April 18, 10x Entertainment announced that Kim Woojin will take on the role of Kyungmin in the HBO max original drama titled "Beyond the Wardrobe." They added that the idol is currently filming in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Kyungmin is one of the members of a K-pop boy group named ACT, who will also include Daeho (played by NEWKIDD Jinkwon), Chul (played by XRO Yoon Jaechan), and Mok (played by Lee Min Wook.

"Beyond the Wardrobe" is a work included in HBO Max's original new drama lineup, which was unveiled on the 15th (local time). It is a romantic fantasy genre drama about an ordinary teenage girl of Korean descent, named Carol, who lives in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Carol wishes to distance herself from anything related to Korean. Accidentally, she discovers a magical portal in her wardrobe that leads her to the ACT members' dormitory.
Korean-Brazilian actress Sharon Blanche will play the female lead, Carol.
This is the first time that Korean stars have been cast for HBO Max's global project. This also marks Woojin's debut as an actor in an international drama.
HBO Max will announce an official service through its Korean branch this year. It is expected that fans in South Korea, as well as fans around the world, will be able to enjoy "Beyond the Wardrobe."

According to a Korean media outlet, the Brazilian media Veja released an article including the interview they had with former Stray Kids Woojin following the announcement of the release of the HBO Max original drama.
In the interview, the Korean idol said, "HBO Maxx has started betting on Korea's soft power. I am feeling the excitement of debuting in a K-pop group again by playing the ACT member Kyungmin."
HBO Max is an OTT service with 73.8 million subscribers worldwide. It has an overwhelming market share throughout South America and North America, including the United States and Canada.
The HBO Max series "Beyond the Wardrobe" starring Kim Woojin is scheduled for release in 2023.

Kim Woojin's Activities After Leaving Stray Kids
Kim Woojin is known to be the former main vocalist in JYP Entertainment's boy group, Stray Kids. He left the band and the agency in October 2019 due to personal circumstances.
Since then, he has pursued a solo career after signing with the newly formed company, 10x Entertainment, in August 2020.

Prior to his solo debut, former Stray Kids Woojin dropped a pre-debut single called "Still Dream" on July 8, 2021. He then made his official debut as a soloist on Aug. 8 of the same year with his first mini-album "The Moment: A Minor," which features the title track "Ready Now."
In South Korea, Woojin's debut mini-album sold a total of 15,448 copies.
In addition to his pre-debut single and mini-album, Kim also dropped two more songs in 2021. He released "Because It's You" as the OST Part.1 of "Let Me Be Your Knight" and "Timeless" as the OST of "3.5th Period."
