BLACKPINK Scores New Spotify Feats After 'You Never Know' Reaches 100 Million Streams

On April 18, YG Entertainment announced that the B-side track "You Never Know" from BLACKPINK's "THE ALBUM" has surpassed 10 million streams on Spotify on the morning of the 16th.

"You Never Know" was released in October of 2020, meaning it took one year and six months to reach the mark.

BLACKPINK's "You Never Know" is an urban-style R&B/soul genre song with emotional lyrics and melody. Through this track, the group proved their colorful music and excellent singing ability.

With this new achievement, all eight songs from BLACKPINK's "THE ALBUM" have each accumulated 100 million streams on Spotify.

Prior to "You Never Know," "How You Like That," "Ice Cream," "Pretty Savage," "Lovesick Girls," "Bet You Wanna," "Crazy Over You," and "Love to Hate Me' have exceeded 100 million streams on the streaming platform in the past.

As a result, BLACKPINK has become the first K-pop girl group, first Asian female artist, and first female group in the world to ever have an album containing tracks that have all reached 100 million streams on Spotify.

Other than that, "You Never Know" is now BLACKPINK's 21st song to attain the 100-million mark, making the quartet the female group in history with the most songs hitting the mark.

BLACKPINK has garnered a whopping 22 billion streams on Spotify, including the streams of the tracks from "THE ALBUM" - the highest number for any girl group in the world.

To recall, "THE ALBUM" is also the work that made BLACKPINK the first K-pop girl group to become a million seller. The studio album sold 1,209,543 copies as of Oct. 26, 2020.

"THE ALBUM" also scored the highest position on both the United Kingdom Albums Chart and the Germany Official Album Chart for a female Korean artist. It secured No. 2 in the UK for the week ending in Oct. 15, 2020 and debuted at No. 7 in Germany.

Over on Billboard, "THE ALBUM" made BLACKPINK the first K-pop girl group to ever stay inside the top 10 of Billboard 200 for three consecutive weeks.

BLACKPINK Lisa, Jennie, Rosé Now Hold the Top 4 Most-Streamed K-pop Female Solo Songs on Spotify

In related news, BLACKPINK members Lisa, Jennie, and Rosé, who have all made their solo debuts in the past, have now secured the top 4 most-streamed K-pop songs by female soloists on Spotify in history.

As of April 18, Lisa holds the No. 1 and 4 spots, while Jennie and Rosé sit at No. 2 and 3, respectively.

In particular, BLACKPINK Lisa's "MONEY" ranked first with 433 million cumulative streams on Spotify, while "LALISA" placed fourth with 196 million cumulative streams.

Jennie's "SOLO" came in at No. 2 with 370 million streams to date, while Rosé's "On The Ground" claimed No. 3 with 201 million streams so far.
