Most K-pop idols leave their groups due to various reasons, including education, health issues, and change in musical direction. But, some of them find themselves debuting once again under new groups.
Here are six K-pop idols who departed from their groups and re-debuted in new ones.
6 K-pop Idols Who Re-Debuted Under New Groups After Leaving Their Initial Bands
HyunA
HyunA made her original debut as the main rapper of Wonder Girls in 2007, but she left the group shortly afterward due to health problems, particularly chronic gastroenteritis and fainting spells. She later re-debuted under 4Minute in 2009. While she was active in the girl group, she formed the co-ed duo named Trouble Maker with Jang Hyunseung.

Unfortunately, 4Minute disbanded in 2016, leading her to pursue a solo career. She re-debuted for the fourth time as a member of the trio, Triple H, which ultimately disbanded in 2018.
HyunA is now a solo artist under P Nation.
KARD Somin
Next, we have Jeon Somin, who re-debuted as a member of APRIL in 2015 after her initial group, Puretty, disbanded in 2014. However, she left APRIL just three months after their launch.
DSP Media explained that Somin has been wondering about her music path and after talking about it with the agency, she decided to withdraw from the group.
Somin later found her best fit as a member of the co-ed group KARD, which debuted in 2017.
Jeon remains a member of KARD even at present.
EXID Solji
Another female idol who left her initial group and went on to re-debut in a new group is EXID Solji. She kickstarted her career as a member of the ballad duo 2NB. But, she was only a member for four years from 2006 and left in December 2010.

Afterward, Solji worked as EXID's vocal trainer before the girls' official debut, then she was eventually added to the debut lineup in 2012.
JYJ - Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu
The JYJ members are probably one of the famous examples of idols who re-debuted under new groups after leaving their initial group.
In particular, the JYJ members are widely known to be originally part of TVXQ. But Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu filed a lawsuit against SM Entertainment for the unfairness of their 13 year "slave contract."
Both sides agreed to terminate the three members' exclusive contracts in 2012, making the trio no longer part of TVXQ.
While in a legal battle with SM Entertainment, Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu began activities as JYJ.

LE SSERAFIM Sakura
In June of last year, former IZ*ONE member Miyawaki Sakura graduated from her Japanese idol group HKT48. She then signed with Source Music in March of this year and will re-debut as a member of LE SSERAFIM in May.
