BoA Shares Struggles She Had When She Became GOT the beat Member
On Jan. 3, GOT the beat made their highly-awaited debut with their first song "Step Back."
GOT the beat marks the beginning of SM Entertainment's Girls on Top (GOT) project, in which female artists under the company will team up to form new sub-units. It is the same with SuperM in that male artists from different groups join forces in a new group, but unlike SuperM, no rotational lineup will be made.

GOT the beat comprises seven members, such as BoA, Girls' Generation Taeyeon and Hyoyeon, Red Velvet Wendy and Seulgi, and aespa Karina and Winter.
BoA, in particular, is known to have initially debuted as a solo artist and has been releasing solo songs and albums for the past 21 years. This means this is the first time that BoA will work with bandmates in recording songs and learning choreographies.
On the April 22 broadcast of "Seoul Check-in," BoA confessed that she had difficulties promoting as a GOT the beat member.
During the latest episode, Lee Hyori met up with BoA and Hwasa and were heading to Kim Wan Sun's house.

While in the car, BoA shared, "I watched a lot of that lately. Everyone was good," referring to her group GOT the beat.
She then said, "It's my first time being in a group. There were several difficulties. I've never danced and moved spots before."
Lee Hyorin replied, "When we were a part of the project group Refund Sisters, Uhm Jung Hwa unnie told us that it felt weird not being in the center."
BoA agreed, saying, "You get center disease. It's hard to even get in formation."
Despite being a soloist for more than 20 years, BoA managed to adjust quickly as a girl group member.
