BTS Member Revealed to Be Producer of PSY's Title Track 'That That'

BTS Member Participates in Production of PSY's 'That That' as Producer

On April 26, PSY took to Twitter to share some details about the title track of his ninth studio album, "PSY 9th." The soloist has been revealing the songs from his upcoming album since April 15, and the title song is the last one.

According to his tweets, the title track of "PSY 9th" is called "That That" and it was produced by a BTS member, who is none other than Suga.

In a video that PSY uploaded, he said, "When meeting younger artists, I don't want to make them feel uncomfortable. I don't want to be someone who's hard to approach. I think about this quite a bit."

BTS Suga shared, "At first, because he's many years my senior and someone who's so well-respected in the business, I was quite nervous."

PSY continued, "He [Suga] wasn't just my junior in the business but also he truly feels like a friend."

Suga then said, "It felt like working with a childhood friend, so it made the songwriting process that much more fun."

BTS Suga is no stranger to producing songs for other artists. He previously worked on IU's "Eight," Jungkook's "Stay Alive," Epik High's "Eternal Sunshine," Halsey's "Suga's Interlude," Heize's "We Don't Talk Together," and more.

He even writes, composes, and produces tracks for his very own group, BTS, and all of them have become hits.

Apart from the title song "That That" (prod. SUGA of BTS), PSY's ninth studio album "PSY 9th" will contain 11 more tracks, including "9INTRO," "Celeb," "You Move Me" (feat. Sung Si Kyung), "Sleepless" (feat. Heize), "Ganji" (feat. Jessi), and "Now" (feat. Hwasa of MAMAMOO).

The full-length album will also comprise "Happier" (feat. Crush), "Hello Monday," "Everyday," "forEVER" (feat. Tablo), and "Dear Me."

PSY's "PSY 9th" is set for release on April 29 at 6 p.m. KST, together with the music video for "That That" (prod SUGA of BTS).

BTS Suga Earns Gaon Platinum Certification

In other news, BTS Suga is one of the recent K-pop artists that have received an official Gaon certification from the Korea Music Content Association.

On April 7, Gaon Chart revealed the latest batch of Korean acts that have earned certifications, and one of them is BTS Suga.

In particular, IU's "Eight," which Suga produced, was officially certified double platinum after reaching 200 million streams in South Korea.

Released back on May 6, 2020, "eight" was written and composed by IU and BTS Suga. It is a pop rock song that tells the story of being 28 years old, fitting for both IU and Suga who were both 28 at that time.

This collab song swept the top spots on iTunes charts around the world. As of 9:11 a.m. KST on May 7, "eight" had reached No. 1 on iTunes Song charts in at least 59 different countries, including the United States, Finland, Singapore, the Philippines, New Zealand, and more.

IU became the second female Korean soloist in history to rank first on iTunes charts in the United States, after Younha, who first attained the feat with "Winter Flower" (feat. RM of BTS).
