8 K-pop Idols Who Debuted in New Groups Thrice After Departure or Disbandment

In the K-pop industry, group disbandments and departures of member/s are common, but the idols' career don't usually end there. Most artists would find themselves debuting in new idol groups twice and even thrice.

Here are K-pop idols who re-debuted multiples in different groups.

HyunA

HyunA first made her debut with Wonder Girls in February 2007 but left the group after five months. She then joined CUBE Entertainment, where she debuted as a 4Minute member in June 2009.

After 4Minute disbanded in June 2016, HyunA re-debuted with the three-member sub-unit Triple H in May 2017. Triple H effectively disbanded after HyunA and DAWN's contract termination in late 2018.

Former April Chaekyung

Chaekyung initially debuted with Puretty under DSP Media in 2012. But Puretty disbanded in January 2014.

In 2016, she re-debuted in the project girl groups C.I.V.A. and I.B.I. in July and August, respectively. The two bands both disbanded later that year.

Chaekyung debuted once again as a member of APRIL in November 2016. She was added to the band after Hyunjoo's departure one month prior. APRIL eventually disbanded in January 2022.

Kep1er Yeseo

Yeseo began her career as a member of the kids' group CutieL in 2010. She was just five years old. She left CutieL three years later and was inactive for six years.

She then became a new member of BUSTERS in July 2019 after more than two years since the group debuted in May 2017.

In July 2020, she left BUSTERS due to losing her desire to promote as a singer. But, she competed in Mnet's "Girls Planet 999" in 2021 and re-debuted as a Kep1er member in January 2022.

Nature Sohee

Kim Sohee is another K-pop idol who debuted as a member of C.I.V.A. and I.B.I. But after these projects disbanded, she debuted as a solo artist in 2017 and became inactive for two years.

Sohee then returned to the music scene in November 2019 as a new member of NATURE, which was launched more than a year prior.

KARD Somin

Somin is another K-pop idol who kicked off her musical career as a member of Puretty. The group, however, disbanded in May 2014.

In August 2015, Somin again debuted in a new group, this time, as a leader of APRIL. But she left the band later that year. She eventually re-debuted in DSP Media's co-ed group KARD in July 2017.

FameUs - debuted in September 2014, but disbanded in 2016.

AxisB - debuted in September 2016, but the members parted ways sometime in 2017.

J-Young Jayoung

M.O.A. - debuted in February 2014; team presumably disbanded in 2015.

4L - debuted in August 2014 (uncertain if she was still a MOA member that time); team disbanded in early 2015.

J-Young - debuted in the duo in June 2016 alongside fellow former 4L member J-Na; duo might have disbanded due to inactivity since 2018.

B.Heart Daewoon

BTL (Beyond the Limit) - debuted in May 2014 under the stage name Do.Ka; group disbanded sometime in 2015.

Road Boyz - debuted in November 2015 under the new stage name Ha Neul; team disbanded in October 2016.

B.Heart - debuted in November 2016 with the stage name Tae U; group presumably disbanded in early 2018.
