On April 29, PSY made his long-awaited comeback with his ninth studio album called "PSY 9th." His last comeback prior to this was back in May 2017, which means "PSY 9th" marks his first music release in about five years.

On the same day as his comeback, he appeared on "Showterview with Jessi" as the program's latest guest. There, he sat down for an interview with show host Jessi, who is an artist under his label P Nation. He also talked about his new album and its title track.

During the "Balance Interview" segment of the show, the first question given to PSY was "Which female lead in your MV do you feel more grateful? Gain in 'Gentleman' vs Son Naeun in 'New Face'?"

Instead of answering the question immediately, PSY commented, "This is weird. This question was not in the script I received in advance."

Jessi then insisted he had to give an answer, saying, "But you gotta pick one."

So, PSY replied that he feels so grateful to both of them, but "in terms of leg work, it must have been harder for Naeun."

He continued that the "New Face" music video was filmed in Macao and that Son Naeun "had to stay up all night for three days straight."

After hearing this, Jessi commented, "He tends to give so much stress," making PSY laugh.

The female host added that she knows how Son Naeun felt at that time. She then asked, "Stayed up for three days?" to which PSY answered, "No time to sleep."

All Jessi had to say was "How cruel. How come you didn't let her sleep?"

However, the "New Face" singer seemed hesitant to answer her question and just said, "Hey, it was five years ago. Do we have to bring it up again now?"

Jessi responded, "That's how it works in here." PSY simply replied, "Okay then," although he didn't reveal the reason why Son Naeun had to stay up that long to film the "New Face" MV.

Released on May 10, 2017, "New Face" is one of the iconic songs by PSY and one of the tracks from the soloist's eighth studio album "4X2=8."

The "Gentleman" singer shared, "Both have their pros and cons. But when it comes to 'fun' alone, I used to believe that it would be way much fun to live as PSY, an artist. But ever since I started my own business, especially managing P NATION, the happiest moment in my life is when 'Nunu Nana" took off."

For starters, "Nunu Nana" is the title track from Jessi's second EP "NUNA," which was released in July 2020. It is a hip hop dance song that expresses Jessi's belief of living according to her own perspective rather than focusing on other people's opinions.

He added that he felt a different kind of happiness as a producer than as a singer. "That brought me back to the memories where we worked hard on writing 'Nunu Nana,'" he said.

Finally, PSY stated, "I've preferred 'PSY, an artist' so far and I still am. But I guess I will love 'PSY, a CEO,' better as he produces."
