For those unfamiliar with Lim Youngmin, he was the leader of Brand New Music's boy group AB6IX. He left the group in June 2020 due to an incident, particularly his DUI (driving under influence).

Back in May 2020, Lim was caught drunk driving by the police and had his driver's license revoked. His management agency said that the idol privately met up with acquaintances for drinks and used his own car to head back to the dorm. Afterwhich, the police discovered him.

Following the incident, Brand New Music announced Youngmin's break from group activities to reflect on his actions and participate in future police investigations if necessary. But he ultimately withdrew from the team to no longer cause harm to his bandmates.

Lim Youngmin later enlisted in the military in November 2020. He first received basic training before serving as an active duty soldier.
