Ranking in fifth place is idol-turned-actress Suzy Bae, who earned most of her money through endorsement deals and drama projects. So far, Suzy is said to have amassed 29.2 billion won (23 million USD) this year (so far).

Looking at her activities in the past months, Suzy returned as a singer on Feb. 17 after four years of hiatus with the song "Satellite."

When it comes to her acting projects, she has one drama appearance to date. She played the role of Yumi in the web series "Anna."

4. BoA

BoA ties with Suzy as the No. 4 richest female K-pop idol in 2022 (so far), meaning she has also earned 29.2 billion won (23 million USD) from her activities in the previous months.

To recall, BoA re-debuted as a member of GOT the beat on Jan. 3 with the digital single "Step Back." GOT the beat is the first sub-unit of SM Entertainment's "Girls on Top" project.

The project girl group took home their first music show trophy for "Step Back" on the Jan. 30 episode of SBS's "Inkigayo." GOT the beat eventually won a total of three trophies.

In mid-March, BoA launched a "self cover project" in celebration of her 20th debut anniversary in Japan. The project involves dropping a total of 10 songs, which were chosen from the idol's previous Japanese releases. As of April 30, seven tracks have been released.

3. Sandara Park

Coming in at No. 3 is former 2NE1 member Sandara Park. She is said to have earned 35.1 billion won (more than 27.6 million USD) to date.

Although she has not yet released solo music, Dara gains money from her YouTube channel, called "DARA TV," which has 1.34 million subscribers.

In April, Sandara Park modeled for the Calvin Klein x Palace Skateboards collaboration collection.

The second-richest female Kpop idol in 2022, so far, is Lee Hyori. Her total assets have reached 46 billion won (more than 36.2 million USD) even though only four months have passed.

This year, Lee Hyori has been chosen as one of the cast members of the new TVING television show "Seoul Check-in."

Finally, the No. 1 richest female K-pop idol this year is none other than IU. Her cumulative earnings is 6.7 billion KRW more than Lee Hyori's total figure. This means, IU has gained a whopping 52.7 billion won (more than 41.5 million USD).

In March, IU teamed up with Jay Park for the latter singer's new song "GANADARA." Their collab track peaked at No. 1 on both the Gaon Digital Chart and Billboard K-pop Hot 100.
