Kyungbock Highschool Face Heavy Backlash as Students are Reportedly Selling aespa Fancams
Recently, all-male institution Kyungbock Highschool has been the center of heavy backlash after rookie girl group aespa made a visit to the school.
Back on May 2, members Winter, Karina, Giselle, and Ningning visited SM Entertainment founder Lee Soo Man's alma mater for their 101st anniversary event.
In fact, it has become a tradition for SM Entertainment artists to visit the school to perform. Other artists of the label who visited Kyungbock Highschool include Girls' Generation, Red Velvet, and NCT 127.
However, following aespa's performance at the highschool, Kyungbock Highschool immediately faced heavy flak after its students were found to have behaved rudely around the group. They surrounded the members, ran up on stage, and more.
The students were also accused of sexually harassing the group, after posts regarding the event circulated online where they made remarks pertaining to touching the members without consent.
SM Entertainment also drew criticism for their lack of protection for the members, who came to the event without any bodyguards provided by the label.

Not long after, Kyungbock Highschool issued a statement to address the issue, but was later deleted following another wave of criticism. On May 3, a second statement was released.
However, Kyungbock Highschool continue to face backlash, after its students were found to have been selling fancams of aespa.
In some of the Instagram posts made by one of their students, they said:
"'Black Mamba,' 'Savage,' and 'Next Level' fancams are for sale. The price is negotioable."
"DM me if you want to receive [the fancams]."
"If you want to get Winter's fancam, please contact me by adding my Kakaotalk through this number. I will give you all three [performances]."
In addition, a student selling aespa's fancams were one of the students who made sexual harassment remarks towards the members. After the student drew negative attention, he immediately deleted his social media.
Netizens are reportedly filing complaints to the Ministry of Education and reporting the incident to newspaper sites. According to Wikitree, Kyungbock Highschool was not aware of this, are will be "taking action after checking with the students."

Meanwhile, aespa recently made headlines after making their Coachella debut at this year's festival.
Back on April 23, the four-piece girl group performed their hit songs "Black Mamba," "Next Level," "Savage," and their unreleased English song "Life Is Too Short," which is reportedly part of their upcoming album.
