These K-Pop Groups Confuse Fans With Their Similar Names

Dozens of K-Pop groups make their debuts each year, but only a handful are able to gain recognition from the media and fans. Numerous groups making their debuts are added to the hundreds of groups already in the industry. It can't be helped that there are times when their names become mistaken for another.

With that, here are some of the K-Pop groups who have left fans confused due to having similar names!

1. WJSN and GWSN

WJSN is also known as Cosmic Girls, however, they are more recognized as WJSN in Korea as it is the acronym for the group's Korean name. So for newer fans, it might get confusing when you hear GWSN, also known as Girls In The Park. GWSN is also the acronym for their Korean name. In fact, some fans even thought they were sister groups due to their similar names!

2. DKZ and DKB

DKZ was originally known as DONGKIZ, until they decided to rebrand the group and change their name this year. With the group now having only three letters, and with the letters "D" and "K" at the beginning, it doesn't come as a shock that some people get confused between DKZ and DKB. Both are totally different groups! DKB has two members more than DKZ.

3. NMIXX, MINX, and MIXX

NMIXX made their debut just back in February 2022, and they are already a popular group both in Korea and overseas. However, given that they are still a new group, there are times when fans accidentally think NMIXX is the same group as MINX and MIXX, with the latter two already being disbanded. As the three groups use the same letters in their name, it's not surprising that it can get confusing!

4. TXT and TST

A similar case with DKZ and DKZ is TXT and TST, whose only difference in their names are the middle letters. Aside from the similar number of letters, the pronunciation for "X" and "S" are also similar. Interestingly, TST's previous names were 7STONE and TopSecret. TXT also often promotes with their full name, Tomorrow X Together, so the confusion can be avoided at times.

5. ONEUS and ONEWE

Another group that have very similar names is ONEUS and ONEWE! However, their names are actually intentional as they are brother groups and hail from the same label, RBW, and the latter had already debuted under a different label with the name MAS. But after ONEWE moved to RBW, they rebranded. In fact, they also debuted in the same year with a four months difference, with ONEUS debuting in January 2019, while ONEWE debuted in May.
