In the book, lead character and Girls Forever member Rachel bumps into her sister Leah backstage at the event. Both sisters are idols under the same company, with Rachel part of the aforementioned nine-member girl group and Leah a member of the five-member girl group SayGO.

Leah gives a quick bow and waves to the Girls Forever members during the event. Most girls wave back, except for two - Mina and Lizzie - who just stare at Leah with a tight-lipped smile.

As Rachel pulls Leah aside, she overhears Lizzie and Mina talking badly about her sister. They ridicule how she bowed, claiming that she does not know how to respect her seniors.

Rachel narrates that this always happens when Leah interacts with Girls Forever. Some girls resent how quickly Leah got into DB Entertainment and made her debut. This is because some have been hoping to get their sisters into the company.

How THIS Hints at Feud Between f(x) Krystal & Girls' Generation Members

Though unconfirmed, long-time supporters of Jessica believe Lizzie is based on Taeyeon, while Mina is based on Sooyoung.

Readers noted that Taeyeon, like Lizzie, has a sister who aspires to be a singer. The main difference is that Taeyeon's sister, Hayeon, ultimately signed as a trainee under SM Entertainment in 2015. However, Hayeon left the company and debuted as a soloist under Enterarts in October 2020.

Leah is based on Jessica's younger sister, Krystal. This is evident not just because she is the main character's younger sister but because she is in a five-member group. When f(x) first debuted, the group consisted of five members.

Leah's training and debut are also based on Krystal. Krystal was scouted by SM Entertainment when she was only five years old. However, the offer was turned down due to her age, and Jessica signed with the label first. When Krystal was 12 years old, she began training and debuted with f(x) three years later.

Due to the similarities, many believe Jessica was trying to hint at beef her past groupmates had with her younger sister. However, neither Krystal, Taeyeon, nor Sooyoung has commented on the situation.
