Does WayV Still Consist of 7 Members? Here's What YangYang Stated
On May 10, it was announced through WayV's official social media accounts that the members will do a relay-live starting on May 11. The members who began the relay were Hendery and YangYang.
During the live broadcast, the two WayV members talked about random topics, one of which was about their company giving them a new car soon. YangYang and Hendery joked about the car they would probably receive, saying that they might have a Bently, Rolls Royce, or a Lamborghini.
What caught viewers' attention the most is when YangYang mentioned the number of WayV members that will use the car. He particularly said, "Then, let's say the 7 of us, uh, um, yes, and we will need 7 managers, like that."
Fans who saw this immediately took to Twitter to share that YangYang acknowledged that WayV is a seven-member group.

In the past months, WayV has been carrying out activities with only four members as Winwin and Ten are both in China while Lucas remains on hiatus.
Regarding Lucas, there have been no updates about him since he halted his activities in August of last year after he was embroiled in a controversy over gaslighting and cheating on two Chinese netizens, one of whom claimed to be the idol's ex-girlfriend.
Because YangYang seemingly confirmed that WayV still has seven members, this gave fans hope that Lucas has not left the group and might rejoin the band soon.

Toward the end of the live broadcast, Hendery and Yangyang left fans excited after saying that a surprise or news will be out on Friday, May 13, and that fans should look forward to it.
The boys even gave some hints that they are currently working on something. They said that the reason they have makeup on is a "secret" and that they want to tell the fans the reason but they can't. They added that they are on their way to the "location," which is probably where they will complete their scheduled activity.
Given the hints and acknowledgement that WayV still has seven members, some fans are hoping that the surprise or news on Friday is about the reunion of the boys, specifically an OT7 comeback.

WayV's Latest Comeback as a 7-Member Group
WayV's most recent comeback with all seven members took place in March of last year when they released their third EP "Kick Back." Although all members took part in the comeback, only five of them completed the promotions as Winwin and Lucas were still in China undergoing quarantine.

"Kick Back" features the title song of the same name and four B-side songs. This EP is the group's first album to reach No. 1 on the Gaon Album Chart, and the first to earn the boys their first album certification in South Korea after selling more than 250,000 countries.
Besides Gaon, the mini-album also topped the Worldwide iTunes Album Chart, marking the group's fourth time to rank first on the tally. This makes WayV the first Chinese male group to chart at No. 1 on the worldwide chart four times in a row.
