The month of May is nearing its end, and several K-pop groups and soloists plan to return to the music scene before that happens. Here are the K-pop comebacks to expect next week.
May 2022 K-pop Comebacks (Week 4): GOT7, Kang Daniel, SEVENTEEN, More!
GOT7 "GOT7"
On Monday, May 23, GOT7 is making their first-ever comeback as a full group more than a year after members left JYP Entertainment in January 2021 and signed with different agencies to pursue a solo career.

GOT7 will kick off the lineup of K-pop comebacks next week with their self-titled album that features a total of six new songs. One of which is the title track "NANANA" that Jay B co-wrote and co-composed.
Expectations on GOT7's comeback are high due to the various genres of songs in their upcoming mini-album. Among the tracks, "Don't Leave Me Alone" expresses the group's wish not to forget GOT7 even if the members return to their respective activities for a while.
Kang Daniel "The Story"
Male soloist Kang Daniel is also coming back next week, and it will be with the release of his first studio album "The Story" on May 24. The album is his first work in 13 months since his fourth EP "Yellow" dropped in April of last year.
Kang Daniel's "The Story" will include a total of 10 songs including the title track "Upside Down." There are also a few songs with a featuring artist, such as "Don't Tell" (featuring Jessi), "How We Live" (featuring sokodomo), and "Mad" (featuring Chancellor).
"Upside Down" is a medium-tempo song that the male soloist wrote alongside Chancellor and Knave. It is a track that contains Daniel's solution to situations that do not go as planned. Kang introduced "Upside Down" as a "really fun song" and a "very attractive and good song."
LIGHTSUM "Into the Light"
Along with Kang Daniel, rookie girl group LIGHTSUM will also drop a new album on May 24, particularly their first mini-album "Into the Light." This EP will mark their second comeback since their debut in June 2021.

Among the five songs included in "Into the Light," "ALIVE" will serve as the title track. "ALIVE" contains lyrics that are about the process of changing the dull world to something lively.
BVNDIT "Re-Original"
Five-member girl group BVNDIT is making their first comeback in two years on May 25 with their third mini-album "Re-Original." Their last return was in May 2020 with their second EP "Carnival."
"Re-Original" will be a five-track mini-album, with "VENOM" serving as the title song. Based on the highlight medley previously revealed, "VENOM" features a groovy yet aggressive bassline and a powerful, explosive sound, which make the song catchy.
SEVENTEEN "Face the Sun"
Another May 2022 K-pop comeback to expect in the last week is that of SEVENTEEN with their fourth studio album "Face the Sun." This album contains the group's ambition to be "The Sun" that has a unique and enormous influence on the world.

To be released on May 27, SEVENTEEN's "Face the Sun" will contain the group's pre-release song and first English track "Darl+ing," the title song "HOT," and seven B-side tracks including "Domino," "If you leave me," "ASH," and more.
"HOT," in particular," is a song that depicts the image of SEVENTEEN as they bravely move toward their own path in the face of the scorching sun.

BLANK2Y Debut With "K2Y I: Confidence [Thumbs Up]"
Besides K-pop comebacks in the last week of May 2022, you can also expect a group debut on May 24. Keystone Entertainment's nine-member boy group BLANK2Y will drop their first mini-album "K2Y I: Confidence [Thumbs Up]" on that day.

The mini-album will feature the title track "Thumbs Up" and the B-side songs "Touch" and "별자리" (which is a fan song).
