Lay Allegedly Removed From EXO's Line-up on SM Entertainment Website
Recently, Chinese internet users discovered that Lay was no longer part of EXO's line-up on the SM Entertainment website. This sudden and silent action has sparked speculation that Lay has not only left SM Entertainment but EXO as a whole.

The keywords "EXO's line-up no longer lists Zhang Yixing's name" immediately started climbing up the top hot searches on the entertainment board on Weibo. Weibo is China's largest social media site similar to Twitter and Facebook.
This has sparked an immense backlash against SM Entertainment. In addition, it was pointed out that Girls' Generation had three members leave SM Entertainment in 2018 - Seohyun, Sooyoung, and Tiffany.

Despite not being under SM Entertainment anymore, the three female idols are still listed as members of Girls' Generation on the SM Entertainment website.
SM Entertainment has not commented on the change in the website. However, as of writing, the company has re-added Lay as a member of EXO on their website.

EXO Lay Leaves SM Entertainment After Ten Years
On April 8, EXO member Lay announced his departure from SM Entertainment through a handwritten letter shared on his social media accounts. He shared two letters, one in English and the other in Korean.

He thanked his EXO members and the label, SM Entertainment, for their support and encouragement in his letter. In addition, he thanked the staff members of SM Entertainment for witnessing every step of his growth and achievements.
He also thanked the fans, EXO-Ls, for their unconditional love and support.

However, he stated that he will always be Lay when his members need me, subtly implying that he is still a member of EXO despite leaving SM Entertainment.
