Who are the K-pop idols lauded for being self-produced? In a survey, Bang Chan, Jooheon, Woozi, and more dominated the Top 10!

Can you guess who's No. 1?

Stray Kids Bang Chan Crowned No. 1 Self-Produced Idol – Here's Why

From May 19 to 25, Daily Sports x Mubeat held a survey to select the best self-produced idols in K-pop.

A self-produced idol is defined as a star who takes charge of the whole creative process of making hits – from making the musical arrangement to editing and mixing the final version.

As a result, Stray Kids leader Bang Chan and representative of fourth-gen K-pop won the title with an overwhelming 203,352 votes out of a total of 357,796 votes. He is also the only candidate for the Weekly Choice chart to receive more than 100,000 votes.

In particular, the reason Bang Chan was selected as No. 1 was because of his all-rounder skills. The "Thunderous" singer is not only the leader, vocalist, dancer and rapper, but he is also the producer of most releases by Stray Kids.

The Korean media outlet highlighted:

"Thanks to Bang Chan's 'all-rounder' position, Stray Kids rose as a representative group of fourth-generation K-pop which successfully led to global chart entry such as the U.S. Billboard and overseas tours."

It also emphasized that without Bang Chan, Stray Kids' activities will not be possible just like how it is now. The male idol truly led the group by writing, composing and arranging the group's songs. In fact, he is the main producer of his own album-producing team, 3RACHA.

As of the moment, the "VENOM" singer has more than 60 songs credited under him, proving his status as a self-producing idol.

Following Bang Chan, Jooheon (41,156 votes) of MONSTA X and Woozi (37,103 votes) of SEVENTEEN ranked second and third, respectively, as the best self-produced idols.

Starting with Jooheon, the male idol is known for his input to MONSTA X's releases and he was also ranked among idols with the most royalties for producing songs. But he doesn't only show his excellency for his own group but he also works for other idols' tracks including Boyfriend, Madtown, CRAVITY, and more.

Meanwhile, WOOZI, who is the main producer of SEVENTEEN, is acknowledged for writing and composing most of the group's hits. Among K-pop groups, SEVENTEEN is the most recognized one for having the most control of their works, earning the modifier "Self-producing idol group."

Cho Seungyoun, also known as WOODZ, is also on the list in fourth place!

WOODZ initially rose into popularity for being a member of UNIQ and X1, but he's now widely famous for being a self-producing star.

Most of his albums and songs were written, composed and produced all by himself. On top of that, he also introduces new genres in each of his releases, continuously challenging his musical spectrum.
