aespa Comeback 2022: SM Girl Group to Drop New Mini-Album
On June 1 at midnight KST, aespa took to their official social media accounts to announce their upcoming return with a mini-album titled "Girls."
Their posts say they will release the EP in July, specifically on July 8.
Their announcement came with a teaser video that shows 3D dark mountains and the words "Girls," "aespa" and "THE 2nd MINI ALBUM." So far, the 15-second clip has reached 1.7 million views.
aespa's most recent music release came in December 2021 when they dropped remake of "Dreams Come True," S.E.S's hit song from 1998. The track was produced by their labelmate and K-pop icon BoA. "Girls" will be the SM girl group's first official comeback in almost nine months since they released their first mini-album "Savage" in October 2021.

According to a media outlet, aespa's second mini-album "Girls" will drop in Korea and the United States at the same time on July 8. But prior to the album's release, the quartet will officially release their first English song "Life's Too Short" on June 24 and will later include it in their upcoming EP.
aespa first revealed "Life's Too Short" through a performance at their historic Coachella appearance this past April 23. Unlike their previous songs like "Black Mamba" and "Savage," "Life's Too Short" doesn't appear to be related to their sci-fi storyline, instead it addresses their carefree attitude and the hate they get online.
Meanwhile, pre-orders for aespa's "Girls" will start on various online and offline music stores on the 2nd.
