(G)I-DLE Shuhua Vents Anger Following Sexual Harassment, Violence Incident in Tangshan

Following the news that nine men assaulted four women in Tangshan, China, (G)I-DLE member Shuhua took to Weibo to express her anger about the incident.

On June 12, Shuhua, the Taiwanese member of the girl group (G)I-DLE, called out the men involved in the gang assault of four women in China. On Weibo, the "TOMBOY" singer posted a lengthy note, expressing sympathy to the victims.

"Dear ladies. I'm sorry that I can't help you with your fear and injustice. But all you have to do is to heal well at your pace.

And for the rest, believe me, everyone will stand up to justice for you. There is no need to show mercy to such bad people. I hope you can see a little warm about this misfortune."

Shuhua, who cannot understand the behavior of the men who committed the assault no matter how much she thinks about it, said:

"If these people have brains, why can't you understand? If you were born human, you should be human. Don't degrade human qualities. You don't deserve to be human either. I don't even know if these sc*ms will understand people's words.

But still, listen up you bad people. If kinds like you don't exist, women's need for self-protection will not exist as well."

At the same time, Shuhua said that these crimes should not be forgiven.

"I'm sick and tired of the existence of these bad people. It's disgusting just for them to breathe alive. The Justice Department, open your eyes wide. We should not show them mercy."

Earlier, four women at a barbecue restaurant in Tangshan, Hebei Province, China were assaulted by a group of men after victim A expressed displeasure when suspect B touched her without consent. Due to this, B hit A.

When victims D, E and F rescued victim A and tried to stop the assault, a group of men watching from outside the restaurant came in to help suspect B, which led to gang violence.

The assault lasted for about four minutes before the men fled from the crime scene and two of the women were hospitalized. Fortunately, their wounds are not life-threatening.

On the same night, two men were arrested which became the key for the police to capture the other suspects. The authorities attested that all of the suspects will receive strict punishment.

Following the post, online users expressed their appreciation for Shuhua's sentiment. However, some were also worried about the idol's possibility to received criticism for engaging in a serious and sensitive topic.

But Shuhua explained to fans she wants to use her platform to speak up against injustice, rather than just being an idol who's known for looks.
