BTS Jungkook Dedicates Self-Written Track 'My You' to ARMYs for 9th Debut Anniversary

At midnight on June 13 KST, BTS' youngest member Jungkook celebrated the group's ninth anniversary since their debut wth a special surprise for his fans, ARMYs.

As part of the ongoing 2022 BTS Festa, which is the group's annual celebration of the anniversary of their debut, the "Permission to Dance" singer dropped a brand new track called "My You," which he personally wrote and produced together with Big Hit Music's in-house producer Hiss Noise.

In the simple video released by BTS' official Youtube channel, BANGTANTV, the three minute and five-second song's Korean and English lyrics appear in a form of text messages, social media posts and stories, and music players.

"My You" is a heartfelt song dedicated to BTS fans alone, with Jungkook describing what inspired his song in a message.

Jungkook said:

"When I think of all of you, these feelings that come to mind are so overwhelming that I used to think, 'What if all of this disappears? Or what if this was all a dream?'

So I wrote a song based on those thoughts, and because I was worried that the song's vibe might become too depressing, I tried to fill the lyrics with pretty words.

This is a song only for you, and I hope that it will become a song that can give hope, light, and strength to both me, who wrote the song, and to you, who listens to it.

I am always grateful to ARMY, and let us make lots of even better memories in the future!

My ARMY, I love you."

Following the release of the surprise song, "My You" immediately set a new record to become the fastest audio by a Korean solo artist to surpass one million views on Youtube, reaching this milestone in just 11 minutes after it became public.
