EXO Chanyeol Rumored To Make Solo Debut
On June 14, a now-deleted tweet claimed EXO member Chanyeol was gearing towards his solo debut.

A Korean fan of the idol allegedly met him at a restaurant and asked for an autograph. After being given an autograph, the fan asked Chanyeol about his plans to release his long-awaited solo album.
The male idol then stated that he planned to release his album as soon as he was discharged from the military.

The tweet soon went viral on Twitter, sparking the hashtag #YEOLOisComing. Many people celebrated the rumors that the male idol would be returning to music, causing the hashtag to trend in several countries.
Word got around that Chanyeol was allegedly preparing for his solo debut in China, and soon Chinese internet users were talking about the rumors. On Weibo, the hashtag #朴灿烈将solo出道 (#ParkChanyeolSoloDebut) topped the entertainment and hot search lists.

Many fans and casual listeners shared their excitement over the news that Chanyeol would be making his solo debut. People on Weibo claimed they would buy a copy of the album once it was released.
User Apologizes for Sparking EXO Chanyeol Debut Rumors
Amid the excitement, the user who shared the tweet quickly deleted their post. This caused many to question the validity of the claims, and some started to believe the rumors were false.

Soon, the user made a tweet apologizing for the frenzy. They stated that they used Chanyeol's answer from a fansign that was held to promote the military musical, "A Song of Meissa," and that Chanyeol did not confirm his solo debut to them.
The tweet was allegedly made as a joke between friends, but once they saw the response the tweet got, they deleted it.

With that, the rumors that Chanyeol will be releasing his solo debut album after his military discharge have been disputed. SM Entertainment has not made any announcements concerning the EXO member's future activities.
Chanyeol's last musical release was with EXO-SC. The duo, composed of Sehun and Chanyeol, released their debut mini-album, "What a Life," on July 22, 2019. The mini-album contained a lead single of the same name, as well as two other singles.
"What a Life" peaked at number one on the Billboard K-Pop Hot 100 and earned one music show win on "Music Bank."
