Jungkook Comments on BTS' Hiatus, Reveals Upcoming Group Activity

BTS' hiatus recently became the talk of the town after the group's announcement that sounded like they would go on an indefinite hiatus as its seven members focus more on solo projects. Now, Jungkook is clarifying the matter.

Jungkook Clarifies BTS' Hiatus, Shares the Group's Upcoming Activity

On June 15, the "Euphoria" singer went on the livestreaming app V LIVE and told the viewers that he wanted to clear up any misunderstandings about BTS' plans. This came after the group's FESTA dinner party video from the previous day where the members talked about a break.

Jungkook shared that BTS isn't exactly taking a hiatus. While the members are indeed going to focus on their solo projects, they won't stop working together as a group, and are not disbanding.

"I'm telling you this in case you misunderstood it. We don't plan on disbanding. We have a lot of group schedules left, and we plan to keep making them," the group's maknae said.

The "Yet to Come" singer also revealed their upcoming group activity, which is filming their variety show "Run! BTS."

Jungkook later said that as each BTS member takes time to pursue solo careers, they will also gear up to present something new for ARMY as a team by finding creative energy and inspiration. Moreover, the time will be used to take a new direction for planning purposes.

"We're going to take some time to have fun and experience lots of things. We promise we will return someday even more mature than we are now," the 24-year-old artist said. He also emphasized that "BTS is forever."

Lastly, BTS Jungkook said, "We need to do something personally and build up a lot of stuff so that we can show you a variety of things as a team. Please think that a new plan is on the way."

Meanwhile, Big Hit Music said in their statement that BTS will start the next chapter of their careers by dropping solo albums and collaborations with different artists. They added that the members' individual activities will be revealed in order with the first member being J-Hope.

BTS' 'Yet to Come' Achieves 1st Trophy on 'Show Champion'

In other news, BTS has taken home their first music show trophy for "Yet to Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)" on "Show Champion."

On the June 15 episode of the said music program, BTS' "Yet to Come" competed against NCT Dream's "Beatbox," Jo Yuri's "Love Shhh!," SEVENTEEN's "HOT," and Kassy's "Don't wanna leave tonight" for first place.

On Korean music charts, "Yet to Come" consistently ranks high since its release. As of 11 p.m. KST on June 15, the song is at No. 2 on MelOn Top 100 and Bugs, No. 3 on Genie, and No. 12 on FLO.

The title track and BTS' "Proof" album also made it to the various Gaon charts for the week of June 5 to 11. The anthology album debuted at No. 1 on the album chart, while "Yet to Come" landed at No. 13 on the digital chart with only two days of tracking. Additionally, BTS remains at No. 1 on the social chart, marking their 65th consecutive week atop the tally.

Meanwhile, over on YouTube, BTS' "Yet to Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)" music video has reached 88.3 million views, as of this writing. The MV impressively racked up 48.9 million views in its first 24 hours.
