AOA Chanmi Shares Thoughts on Mother's Youth Volunteer Services
Recently, AOA member Mina and her mother, Lim Chun Sook, made a guest appearance on the June 15 broadcast of tvN's variety program "You Quiz on the Block."
Chanmi's mother Lim Chun Sook, who is a director for a hair salon, had appeared on several broadcasts in the past for her good deeds, which include taking in wandering teenagers into her care and providing them with a place to stay and warm meals.
During their appearance on the show, Lim Chun Sook was asked about the reason behind her generous acts. To this, she said, "If you run away, you don't have any money. If you feed [teenagers] and provide them with a place to sleep, they become comfortable psychologically and refrain from doing bad things."
She continued, "So I would find out their parents' phone numbers while comforting them. After contacting their parents and telling them to be at ease, I would bring the children with me and return them to their parents."
Regarding her mother's kind heart, Chanmi expressed how proud she is. In fact, she thought a lot of hair salons used to do such acts when she was younger.
"I feel proud. When I was young, I thought that all hair salons were just like this. My mom started youth volunteer services when I was in my twenties. When thinking about my age now, I think it is so amazing of her," Chanmi said.

Chanmi Speaks Up on AOA's Bullying Scandal Between Jimin and Mina
Chanmi then spoke about AOA's bullying scandal, which involved former members Jimin and Mina. Although she didn't directly mention the scandal, she mentions having been so confused in the last year.
"A year ago, I was confused that I once told my mom, 'Should I just quit?' When I said that, my mom said, 'Then just quit. If Chanmi is not happy and wants to quit, then she should stop doing it,'" Chanmi shared.
She then told her mom that she doesn't think she can quit, as she doesn't know what to do for a living if she does. "So I told her, 'Mom, I lived by doing only this [job] up until now. If I quit, I don't know what to do for a living.' But my mom told me that she and I can work together at the hair salon," she explained.
As Chanmi has realized that she can quit whenever she wants to quit, she began thinking that she should keep going a little further, and expressed how thankful she is to her mom.
"Everyone just tells me to endure. I was thankful that [my mom] told me that I don't have to endure," Chanmi said.
Meanwhile, AOA became entangled in a scandal back in 2020 after Mina alleged that Jimin had bullied her during her time with the group. Jimin subsequently left the group and the entertainment industry. However, the feud surrounding the two former members persisted in the past year.
