BTS Jungkook Isn't Interested in Receiving Grammy Award-Here's the Reason

This past April, BTS attended the 2022 Grammy Awards to perform their hit song "Butter," which is nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance-marking their second nomination in the category.

In his solo interview with Weverse Magazine, BTS Jungkook mentioned winning a Grammy award as he talks about his music.

Interviewer Myungseok Kang asked the "Butter" singer what his driving force is to try new things as a BTS member. He answered, "Because, in the end, I want it. I want to see myself being able to do all those things."

He also said that there are times when he sees someone doing something, he thinks "If they can do it, why not me?" He added that seeing someone looking cool while doing something becomes his motivation to get started.

Myungseok commented, "The other members must be a big influence on you," to which BTS Jungkook replied, "A really big influence. Just seeing the others put out their mixtapes makes me think, 'When should I make one?' There must be something I have that I can prove."

The interviewer then said, "That's where your 'Proof' would come from-more so than winning any Grammy."

The "Dynamite" singer responded, "I think our status is there whether we win a Grammy or not. That was just, I don't know-a good experience? It made me realize that, while I knew that winning the Grammy Award is a huge deal, I wasn't really interested in actually winning one."

BTS Jungkook further revealed that he's more interested in proving himself through music rather than winning the prestigious award.

The 24-year-old-artist also shared that he was delighted to see performances at the Grammys from various artists he never saw in-person before.

Although BTS hasn't won at the Grammy Awards, they remain the first and only K-pop group to be nominated and to perform at the reputable awards ceremony thus far.
