As soon as Bang Yong Guk was introduced, the hosts and the jury were surprised by his unexpected appearance.

Bang Yong Guk said it's been a while since he sang on stage and revealed the real reason he decided to join the show.

"I think this is the first time that I went to a broadcasting station after four years. I've worked hard for our group activities (B.A.P) and now I'm doing solo, but because I have worked alone on music liberally, I've gotten a lot farther away from broadcasting stations."

He added:

"My grandmother was worried if I was living a hard life because I wasn't appearing on TV. Since the weekend's representative entertainment show is "King of Masked Singer," I came out to say hello so that my grandmother can watch it."

Aside from his appearance, Bang also drew attention for his interaction with his senior idol, former 2NE1 Dara.

The "I Remember" singer particularly consulted the female idol in regards to the transition of his career from being a member of a group to being a solo artist.

"I think you successfully established your solo career on top of working as a group, so I want to ask you how to do it successfully."

Dara then asked:

"Do you want to try other fields besides music?"

Yong Guk answered:

"I live from documentary production to idol album production, but I don't feel like I've succeeded in standing alone."

Sandara added with a smile:

"I (also) want to do the production. Can you raise me?"

At that, Bang Yong Guk accepted and responded:

"It's such an honor."

Before the broadcast concluded, the male idol conveyed his message to fans, saying:

"I'm trying to live my life freely rather than having a special plan. I want you to know that there are people who do music called Bang Yong Guk in Korea."

Bang Yong Guk is the former leader and main rapper of the boy group B.A.P (Best Absolute Perfect), launched in 2012 under TS Entertainment.

The group became popular despite coming from a small-sized company and is notable for their songs "ONE SHOT," "WAKE ME UP," "HONEYMOON" and more.

Unfortunately, they had a dispute with their company due to mistreatment and profit issues for a year before settlement.

In 2019, they announced their disbandment.
