Additionally, the words "hit ya!," which is reminiscent of "giddyup" (an onomatopoeic word used when riding a horse), repeatedly appears on the hook, making the song more addicting. Lee Seungcheol, one of the best vocalists in Korea, was in charge of the vocal directing.
LAPILLUS Shana shared during the press conference, "One of the things to take note about 'HIT YA!' is the performance. It contains both individual parts, which show the charm of each member, and group dance, which displays the overall appeal of LAPILLUS."
When asked to name the K-pop artist who they consider as their role model, LAPILLUS revealed that it's YG Entertainment's legendary girl group 2NE1.

The group's main vocalist Bessie said, "There are so many famous seniors, but I respect 2NE1 sunbaenim the most and view them as my role models. Personally, I listen to 2NE1 sunbaenim's songs a lot. I also think that they are cool in terms of performances. In fact, I watch a lot of their videos while practicing my dance moves."
Later on, MLD Entertainment's new girl group mentioned their senior group MOMOLAND. Bessie shared that MOMOLAND visited them during practice and gifted them chocolates as their way to show their support. She added that their seniors told them to practice hard.
LAPILLUS is MLD Entertainment's second girl group and fourth K-pop artist overall, following MOMOLAND, T1419, and JT&MARCUS. Their debut single "HIT YA!" is due out later today, June 20, at 6 p.m. KST.
