LOONA's 'Flip That' First-Day Sales on Hanteo Become Group's Highest to Date
On June 20, LOONA made their first comeback since the conclusion of Mnet's "Queendom 2." The group released their summer special album titled "Flip That," which features a total of six songs including the title track of the same name and the B-side song "Playback," which is the very first song written by members to be featured in an album.
The title track "Flip That" is described as a house-based song with a catchy chorus and melody. It gives off LOONA's bright energy as the song keeps changing the rhythm and composition. Lyrically, the track reveals how the girls want to flip the world upside down.

At 5:20 p.m. KST on that day, the summer special album already sold 27,799 copies, instantly breaking the girl group's previous first-day sales record of 18,641 copies set by their fourth extended play "[&]" in June 2021.
More copies were sold the following hours, and by the end of the 20th, the first-day sales of LOONA's "Flip That" reached 54,065 copies-almost tripling their first-day sales with "[&]."
This goes to show how much their popularity increased after their participation in Mnet's "Queendom 2," where they finished in second place with a total of 77,988 points.

LOONA's 'Flip That' Debuts on iTunes Charts, Korean Music Charts
In related news, LOONA's summer special album and its title track successfully landed on iTunes charts across the globe, as well as on various major Korean music charts.
First, in South Korea, the lead single "Flip That" debuted at No. 1 on Bugs and No. 168 on Genie at 7 p.m. KST on the 20th. All five B-side songs also made it to Bugs' Top 35.

In the United States, LOONA's "Flip That" entered at No. 2 on the iTunes Album Chart, while the title track debuted at No. 27 on the iTunes Song Chart. The album went on to reach the No. 1 spot at approximately 11:15 p.m. KST, while the song peaked at No. 21. With this, LOONA becomes the only second girl group to reach No. 1 on the U.S. iTunes in 2022, following Dreamcatcher.
Moreover, LOONA's "Flip That" entered at No. 1 and No. 2 on the Worldwide iTunes Album Chart and the European iTunes Album Chart, respectively. They have now extended their record as the girl group with the most No. 1 albums on the worldwide iTunes chart (7 albums).
Meanwhile, the title track debuted at No. 9 and 59 on the Worldwide iTunes Song Chart and the European iTunes Song Chart, respectively.

As of 2 a.m. KST, the summer special album reached No. 1 on iTunes Album charts in 23 countries, including the United States, Finland, Colombia, Singapore, Romania, Brazil, Turkey, Vietnam, Bahrain, Norway, and more. It is also charting inside the top 10 in other 14 countries.
Concurrently, "Flip That" has swept the top spot on iTunes Song charts in five countries, such as Brazil, the Philippines, Brunei, Chile, and Latvia. It is also charting in the top 10 in other 10 countries.
On YouTube, the music video for LOONA's "Flip That" reached 1.7 million views in 10 hours after its release and went on to hit three million views at approximately 6:45 a.m. KST. The number of views for the song has crossed 3.3 million views, as of this writing.
