K-pop Comebacks, Debuts (3rd Week of June 2022)

EXO Chen "An Unfamiliar Day"

On June 17, EXO member Chen released the "Doctor Lawyer OST Part.2" titled "An Unfamiliar Day." This soundtrack marks his first music release since his military discharge on April 25. "An Unfamiliar Day" is an emotional ballad about trying to see the light at the end of a tunnel.

LAPILLUS "HIT YA!"

This week, the K-pop industry saw the highly-anticipated debut of MLD Entertainment's new girl group, LAPILLUS, on June 20. The six-member group released their first single album "HIT YA!," which features the title track of the same name. The band is known to include former "Girls Planet 999" contestant Shana and Filipino-Argentinian member Chanty.

Kep1er "DOUBLAST"

Also, on the 20th, Kep1er made their very first comeback since their debut and participation in Mnet's "Queendom 2." The project girl group dropped their second mini-album "DOUBLAST," which contains five new songs including the title track "Up!"

With "DOUBLAST," Kep1er broke their personal record for highest first-day sales on the Hanteo Chart. Their new mini-album sold a total of 153,094 copies, surpassing their previous record of 150,153 copies set by their debut album "FIRST IMPACT."

LOONA "Flip That"

Another K-pop group that made a comeback on the 20th is LOONA, who is also a former contestant in Mnet's "Queendom 2."

The 12-piece group released their summer special album "Flip That," which also marks their first music release after competing in "Queendom 2."

"Flip That" features the title song of the same name and five B-side songs, including "Playback" which the members wrote themselves. It is now the group's best-selling album on the first day as it sold over 54,000 copies.

LE SSERAFIM Kim Garam, who has been on temporary hiatus since May this year, is rumored to resume her activities in the entertainment industry.

Recently, a fan posted a photo of her "FEARLESS" album with all six members' signatures, including that of Garam. This resulted in people speculating that she might rejoin the group soon.

BTS has made history on Billboard 200 after their anthology album "Proof" debuted at No. 1 on the said chart

In particular, the septet is now the first-and so far, only-Korean act to ever reach the top of Billboard 200 with six different albums.
