"IM NAYEON" to Become First Top 10 Album by Korean Soloist in Billboard 200 History

On July 2, Hits Daily Double revealed the final rankings of the top 50 best-selling albums in the U.S. in the week ending on June 30- and one of the only two K-pop albums included is TWICE Nayeon's "IM NAYEON."

On the list, "IM NAYEON" secured the No. 7 spot with 55,435 units sold in its first week, a total of 50,833 copies of which are pure sales (recording the No. 1 highest pure album sales among the top 50 releases on the chart).

As it placed seventh on Hits Daily Double's list, TWICE Nayeon's solo album is projected to debut at No. 7 on Billboard 200, which ranks the most popular albums in the U.S. of the week. It will be the highest-charting female album on the upcoming weekly chart.

Among the TWICE albums, "IM NAYEON" is now the third highest-ranking release, surpassing the group's second studio album "Eyes Wide Open" (which only peaked at No. 72 with 14,000 units sold in the first week).

On top of that, "IM NAYEON" will become the first-ever album by a Korean female soloist- and by a Korean soloist overall- to enter the top 10 on Billboard 200. It will also be the highest-peaking K-pop solo album on the tally to date.

In other news, TWICE Nayeon obtained another new historic feat with "IM NAYEON," and this time, it's in terms of the first-week album sales on the Hanteo Chart.

Released on June 24, "IM NAYEON" is now the album by a female K-pop soloist released in 2022 with the biggest first-week sales after selling an impressive total of 252,903 copies from June 24 to 30. It surpassed Girls' Generation Taeyeon's "INVU," which only sold 142,019 copies from Feb. 14 to 20.

What's more, TWICE Nayeon's solo album is now the album from JYP Entertainment with the second-biggest album sales in the first week this 2022. The record was previously held by NMIXX's "AD MARE," which sold 227,399 copies from Feb. 22 to 28.

"IM NAYEON" also now holds the record for the fourth-highest first-week album sales of any female K-pop soloist in history- surpassing IU's "Love Poem," which only sold 147,856 copies. The debut album now comes behind BLACKPINK Lisa's "LALISA," BLACKPINK Rosé's "-R-" and IU's "LILAC."

It is worth noting that "IM NAYEON" wrapped up its first-day sales with 123,835 copies, recording the highest first-day sales for a female soloist on Hanteo in 2022. It again outperformed Taeyeon's "INVU," selling only 84,225 copies.

With over 100,000 copies sold on the first day alone, TWICE Nayeon has become the only fourth female K-pop soloist to reach the mark, following IU and BLACKPINK Lisa and Rosé.
