Lee Soomin in 2016: Produce 101, K-pop Star 6
In 2016, Lee Soomin's name became known in the K-pop scene after joining Mnet's "Produce 101" as a Fantagio Music trainee.
During the show, she gained fame for her overall skills, including her excellent stage presence and facial expressions. Unfortunately, she was eliminated in the 10th episode, ending at #31.
The 17-year-old idol aspirant at that time left the agency and decided to try her luck again by joining "K-pop Star 6: The Last Chance." But, she was eliminated just right before the finals, earning regrets from fans.

In the following year, it was announced that Lee Soomin is finally gearing up for her debut under LOEN Entertainment, her new nest.
While an active member of the pre-debut team FAVE Girls, she joined MIXNINE in October 2017 and made it into the finals. However, the boy's team was favored to debut than their team, losing the opportunity.
While her fans are still anticipating her debut as FAVE Girls, she broke the news in 2018 that she's leaving the agency along with other trainees. As a result, she couldn't join the girl group's debut, now known as Weeekly.
After two years of silence in the K-pop industry, she was revealed to join the pre-debut team MYSTIC Rookies under MYSTIC Story in February 2020.
But six months after training to become a member of Billlie supposedly, all her photos were removed from the website for rookies, confirming her departure.

In the K-pop scene, Lee Soomin's debut is one of the much-anticipated among popular trainees due to her potential and skills.
But on July 1, she confirmed that she is officially leaving the K-pop scene by giving up on her dreams of becoming an idol after 11 years.
According to her farewell letter on Instagram, her first post in about two years, Soomin opened up about having a hard time due to her previous journey and experiences.
Although some still believe in her, Soomin decided to finally continue her studies after successfully getting into a university. She plans to get her degree, learn more and do her job.
The idols aspirant wishes for her fans to support her new endeavor, although she feels sorry for those who cheered for her. However, she attested to them that she was finally alright and felt peaceful.
