K-pop Idols Who Could've Been Lawyers: BLACKPINK Rosé, IRRIS Nina, More!

Before they became idols, these K-pop stars dreamed to become attorneys. In fact, No. 2 is still attending law school! From BLACKPINK Rosé to Super Junior Kyuhyun and more, these K-pop idols could have been lawyers!

Not all idols originally planned to debut or pursue their current careers. There are actually a lot of them who decided to get their degree from non-art-related courses or programs.

In fact, the following idols didn't think that they would debut as K-pop stars so they initially thought of pursuing law degrees.

Here Are 3 K-pop Idols Who Could've Been Lawyers If They Didn't Debut:

1. BLACKPINK Rosé

First on this list is BLACKPINK's main vocalist, Rosé!

Since her childhood, the female idol always had a passion for singing and performing. During her time in New Zealand, Rosé spent her time playing instruments and singing for their church's chorale.

You can say that singing is her first love, but living in a foreign country, opportunities such as debuting as a K-pop idol is once in a blue moon. So, she initially gave up.

Thus, when she studied at Canterbury Girls’ Secondary College in Melbourne, Australia, Rosé took law as her major. Apparently, her father and sister influenced her to pursue it, since both of them are lawyers.

They could have been a family of lawyers, but YG Entertainment held an audition for idol aspirants from Australia and Rosé successfully passed!

She then flew to Korea after two months and trained under the agency, and the rest is history!

2. IRRIS Nina

Nina a member of the rookie girl group IRRIS, is currently studying law amid her debut as an idol!

For those who don't know her, Nina recently made her debut as the maknae and visual of IRRIS under JUSTICE RECORDS. She is a 2003-liner idol and is Korean-Australian.

Aside from her visuals, age, and nationality, what attracted K-pop enthusiasts' attention the most is the fact that she's a law student!

It was first rumored that she already got her degree, but during their debut showcase, Nina clarified that she's still studying law in Korea.

Apparently, she enrolled in a law school in Australia only until the first semester before she moved to the country to pursue her dream of becoming an idol. She is currently continuing her studies at the university while in Korea.

Fans are truly excited to see whether Nina will become the first idol to become a lawyer as well!

3. Super Junior Kyuhyun

Although the K-pop icon didn't attend or is currently enrolled in a law school, Kyuhyun confessed he was supposed to be a lawyer. He narrated that his family urged him to get a law degree and he was first willing to follow it, not until he joined a band when he was in high school.

Kyuhyun then felt like pursuing singing and music, but his father didn't agree at first. A deal was then created: Kyuhyun will only be allowed to do music if he will be accepted into a prestigious university.

Thus, the male idol worked hard and was accepted into Kyunghee University. He gained his father's approval and graduated from the same school with a major in Post Modern Music.
