About Former "Girls Planet 999" Contestant Yoon Jia

Yoon Jia is an 18-year-old idol aspirant that was introduced to the public as a participant in Mnet's latest girl group survival show "Girls Planet 999" on July 7, 2021 through a prologue trailer, together with other competing trainees. Her official profile was then revealed 10 days later.

Jia started dancing when she was an elementary-school student, and it is said that she trained at On Music Academy. Thanks to her talent in music, Yoon was able to take home the 3rd grader daesang from the Junior Standard Music Competition in March 2019, when she was nine years old. In addition to dancing, she is also skilled in playing the piano.

In the K-Group, Yoon Jia ranked 22nd after individual performances of the signal song.

In "Girls Planet 999" episode 1, Jia performed NCT 127's "Kick It" with Seo Youngeun. They were both candidates for top 9, but Youngeun was the only one added in the end.

In episode 3, she was in a cell called "Do Mi Sol" with Zhou Xin Yu and Shima Moka. Her cell was then included in Team 2 that performed BLACKPINK's "How You Like That." She was the main rapper in the group. Unfortunately, Team 2 lost.

In the fifth episode, the cell rankings were revealed, and Yoon Jia's cell placed 17th. Regarding individual rankings in the K-Group, she was in the 10th spot.

During the Connect mission, Jia was part of the dance team named "look!," which performed Little Mix's "Salute." Her team successfully won.

Yoon Jia only made it to episode 8 of Mnet's "Girls Planet 999," however, as she placed 11th in the K-Group, only eight trainees in each group would proceed to the next mission.

Yoon Jia then appeared in the show's final episode alongside other eliminated trainees.

At present, Yoon Jia remains a trainee under her initial label YES IM Entertainment. She returned to her management agency and continued her training after being eliminated from "Girls Planet 999."

In October 2021, Lim Changjung (the founder of YES IM Entertainment) personally announced that former "Girls Planet 999" contestant Yoon Jia will debut in a new girl group, which is said to consist of six members.

According to sources, the upcoming girl group performed at singer ChangJung's concert under the name MIMIMI/MEMEME. Yes Im Entertainment registered both names in 2020, but they were allegedly rejected. Some sources say the upcoming group will be called MiMiiMii. It was also said that the new K-pop group's debut was initially planned for July this year, but it was postponed to August for unknown reasons.

On July 10, former "Girls Planet 999" contestant Yoon Jia personally revealed on Instagram that she will debut as a member of YES IM Entertainment's girl group named mimiimiii. She did not mention when their debut is scheduled, but she said they are working hard "every day and night" to repay the fans.
