Kim Hyerim is one of the 99 trainees who competed and was unfortunately eliminated from Mnet's "Girls Planet 999," which formed the project girl group called Kep1er. As she was an independent trainee when she participated in the survival show, you might wonder where Hyerim is now after her "Girls Planet 999" journey ended. Well, we have the answer to that, so keep on reading!

Kim Hyerim's Career Ahead of Participating in Mnet's "Girls Planet 999"

Prior to joining Mnet's "Girls Planet 999," Kim Hyerim already had experience in the K-pop industry. She may have appeared on the survival program without being affiliated with any agency, but she had a management company before.

Kim was under D-Maker Entertainment and was part of the label's female duo, Limesoda (along with Seungji). The duo debuted on Jul. 12, 2017, with their first digital single, "Z Z Z."

While she was still a Limesoda member, Hyerim re-debuted in the project girl group AQUA, which Actoz Soft (a gaming company) created. AQUA, considered Korea's first Esports girl group, debuted on Nov. 17, 2018, with the digital single "Log In." The group silently disbanded sometime in 2019, however, following the closure of their management agency KRAZY Entertainment.

As a result, Kim Hyerim returned to D-Maker Entertainment and resumed her activities as a Limesoda member. The female duo released two more singles before Kim ultimately left the group in March 2020 due to conflicts and disagreements with the company. This led her to become an independent trainee.

Kim Hyerim was introduced as a participant in Mnet's "Girls Planet 999" on Jul. 7, 2021, alongside other competing trainees, through a prologue trailer. She was one of the independent Korean trainees who joined the survival show with Han Dana, Jeong Jiyoon, Kim Sein, Kim Yubin, and Lee Youngyung.

In the rankings of "Signal Song" performances, Hyerim ranked fourth in the K-Group. Then, during the Planet Demo Stage of trainees, she performed "WOW THING" as part of FIREWORKS- which also comprised Yoo Dayeon, Lee Sunwoo, and Kim Doah. Hyerim was then picked as a top 9 candidate.
