BLACKPINK Jennie, Rosé to Release Unit Song This 2022? Ryan Tedder Teases New Music From Girls

BLACKPINK's comeback this coming August has been highly-anticipated since YG Entertainment officially announced the group's return. The quartet is also gearing up for their new world tour.

This past July, BLINKs suspected that OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder might be involved in BLACKPINK's upcoming album after he shared Hypebeast's post about the group's comeback to his Instagram story one day after YG's announcement.

Besides that, Tedder also re-shared Rosé's Instagram post in July of last year. The post allegedly features a photo of her and Jennie in Ryan's recording studio. The picture was taken when the two BLACKPINK members were in Los Angeles. At that time, YG Entertainment revealed that these two were working on new music.

Recently, Ryan Tedder confirmed that he worked with Jennie and Rosé on a new track. This led to speculations that the two might debut as a subunit, or perhaps release a unit song through BLACKPINK's upcoming album.

In a recent interview at Good Morning America's 2022 Summer Concert series, OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder shared, "All I can confirm is that I have worked on BLACKPINK material. I did write with the girls themselves."

He added, "I did, I think, one of the only sessions they've done outside of Korea, we did in LA. With Jennie, Rosé, a handful of them."

Tedder also took the opportunity to describe the two BLACKPINK members, saying, "They're phenomenal, they're so sweet, they're so talented." He then revealed that he is a huge BLACKPINK fan, and that he has many posters of the girl group all over his wall, which his wife thinks is weird.

Although Ryan Tedder couldn't spill more about Jennie and Rosé's upcoming music, he assured fans that the song "is very true to their sound."

"I genuinely love BLACKPINK, so I can't tell you what's coming out. I think one or two of my songs have made the album from what I've been told," Ryan revealed. "And the stuff that I did with them, I can just say that it's very true to their sound. They wrote it, so it was very much me just supporting them and their ideas."

The OneRepublic member concluded that their upcoming music is "cool as hell."
