Former H.O.T Jang Woo Hyuk Accused of Physically and Verbally Abusing Employees

According to an exclusive report by media outlet SBS News, former H.O.T member and first-generation idol Jang Woo Hyuk had recently reported two of his former employees at the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul back on July 7. The former idol had taken legal action against the two for defamation and obstruction of business due to allegedly false claims made by his former employees.

Reports state that the two former employees, who worked at his company, had uploaded a post on an online community forum accusing Jang Woo Hyuk of physically and verbally abusing them, in addition to unfair treatment.

A female employee, "A," who worked at his company back in 2014, claimed on June 9 that Jang Woo Hyuk would make his employees attend to his schedules and other work. Moreover, "A" claimed that the singer didn't even provide any food and water for them.

"A" claimed:

"[Jang Woo Hyuk] didn't hire a manager, so the employees [of his company] had to go out with him to the filming site during the mid-summer sun to help him film. He didn't even provide water or meals at all. I even had to do the work of a stylist and makeup artist."

Another female employee, "B," also stepped up and accused Jang Woo Hyuk of physically and verbally abusing her during a business trip back in 2014.

"B" alleges:

"I was hit on the head by his hand wearing leather gloves in a taxi while traveling to a Korean restaurant during a business trip in Qingdao, China, in 2014. Even after we arrived at the restaurant, I continuously heard his scolding remarks."

"A" also made similar claims, stating that Jang Woo Hyuk had hit her with his hand at a broadcasting station in 2019. In addition, he had allegedly called her profanities while she was setting up his in-ear monitor.

Both "A" and "B" also claimed that a former trainee, "C," at Jang Woo Hyuk's company had once written a letter demanding an apology. In the letter, "C" had also shared that she was allegedly a victim of Jang Woo Hyuk's profanities and violence back in 2016.

Jang Woo Hyuk Takes Legal Action Against Former Employees

Jang Woo Hyuk had reportedly met with "C" in person and apologized. However, he will still be taking legal actions against the two employees, claiming their accusations were false.

In his fancafe, Jang Woo Hyuk expressed the injustice he felt due to the accusations made by his former employees.

Jang Woo Hyuk said:

"Things that I thought would just pass by because they were not true became poison and made it harder for the fans who have been anxious for a month. I thought that it would blow over if I were to put up with the situation. But it wasn't. I am taking all legal measures to become an artist and singer my fans can be proud of like I am now."

Meanwhile, Jang Woo Hyuk is the founder and CEO of WH Entertainment.
