Min Hee Jin's girl group NewJeans is receiving criticism as they have allegedly plagiarized WJSN's logo for their first EP. Keep on reading to know what made people think so.
NewJeans Accused of Plagiarizing WJSN's Logo for First EP- Here's Why
On July 25, NewJeans revealed the album design of their self-titled debut EP, which is set to drop on Aug. 1. The album will feature the third title song "Cookie" and the group's pre-release tracks "Attention," "Hype Boy" and "Hurt."
One day later, NewJeans became a hot topic on Twitter after one netizen tweeted asking whether a doodle from the rookie group's album design is the same as WJSN's logo. Some netizens who saw this post accused NewJeans of plagiarism.

The tweet in question is the one made by Twitter user @amoureuxd_ereve. It contains a photo of WJSN's logo and another picture showing one of the doodles. This post has reached 1,800 likes and more than 4,300 retweets.
The netizen wrote, "No.. this is too much. The new girl group New Jeans logo. Is it the same as our Cosmic Girls' logo?."
The doodle can be seen on the right bottom of the album design. It features a heart planet with NewJeans' name except without the vowels. Hence, it was written as "NWJNS." Because the group's name is written inside the heart planet, it appeared as if it was their logo. But as of this writing, the rookie group's official logo has not been revealed.

In the comments section of the tweet, most comments are accusing NewJeans of copying WJSN's logo.
A few of the comments are:
"NewJeans shouldn't use that."
"Even if the members drew it themselves, if they're using it for commercial purposes, it could be considered stolen."
"You can find WJSN's logo with just a simple search. Why are they using it?"
"The new group NewJeans logo and our WJSN's logo are exactly the same?"
However, one netizen took to TheQoo to create a post and defend the new girl group against the accusations. The post titled, "People are going crazy over NewJeans' album's sketch overlapping with WJSN's official logo," talked about how Twitter users claim that Min Hee Jin's girl group plagiarized WJSN's logo.

TheQoo user also pointed out the heart planet is not NewJeans' logo and that the members only drew it. They also claimed that the heart planet is a common image that anyone can find on Google.
Under the TheQoo post, the other netizens agreed that the heart planet is commonly used. Here are some of the comments:
"It's way too common. I'm taken aback."
"First of all, it's just a scribble. Why are people mad?"
"Honestly, even when WJSN debuted, people were talking about their logos being plagiarized, but they said themselves that it was a common image and that there's no issue."
"It's way too common, and it's not like they're using it as a logo."
"It's not plagiarism, but this isn't common within girl groups."
