IU Asks J-Hope Why She Wasn't Invited to 'Jack in the Box' Listening Party- Here's His Reply
On July 14, one day before the official release of J-Hope's first solo album, "Jack in the Box," the BTS member held a listening party, and the guest list included well-known artists in the K-pop industry.
During his appearance on "IU's Palette," J-Hope revealed that he hosted the listening party as one of his new challenges to step out of his comfort zone- because he has an introverted personality. He shared this when he was asked to share who he considers his musical colleagues.

"Yes, of course, the members. But in reality, I don't have a lot of people around me," J-Hope said. "I don't know many artists. So there aren't many other featured artists in my album."
The "MORE" singer added, "So one of my new challenges has been to host a listening party." He then said that the reason he decided to hold one was to let people know what kind of musician he was and to hand around his name card.
At J-Hope's "Jack in the Box" listening party, his fellow BTS members weren't the only ones who attended. There were other top-tier artists as well, including BIGBANG Taeyang, ASTRO Cha Eunwoo, Uhm Jung Hwa, Jessi, HyunA, DAWN, Tiger JK, and BIBI, to name a few.

While several celebrities were invited to the event, many didn't get an invite- and one of them is IU. So, the female idol took the chance to ask the BTS member.
During the talk, IU asked J-Hope, "As the host of the party, why didn't you invite me?" to which the male idol quickly responded that he did want IU to attend (but the captions joked that J-Hope was "making excuses faster than rapping").
"I really wanted to, but I didn't know how," J-Hope explained.

IU then asked if she would have been allowed to enter if she wanted to, and J-Hope replied, "Of course, I wanted to invite you."
In response, the "Palette" singer joked that the BTS member should definitely invite her to his next party and added that she would even drop by a salon to prepare.
Meanwhile, IU and J-Hope treated viewers to a performance of the latter's solo song "Equal Sign" (from his solo album "Jack in the Box").

BTS J-Hope to Be First Guest of Zico's YouTube Show
In other news, BTS J-Hope was revealed to be the first guest of Zico's upcoming YouTube show "Give Me a Minute." The program follows Zico as he meets a new guest each week, interviewing them for five minutes.
Although the two are both artists under HYBE, this will be the first time that Zico and J-Hope will interact with each other in one show. The launch of the YouTube show comes after Zico's comeback with his fourth mini-album, "Grown Ass Kid," which was released on July 27.
"Grown Ass Kid" is Zico's first music release since his military discharge this past May. It contains the title track "Freak" and four B-side songs. "Freak" makes listeners picture a city of freaks that has turned into commotion due to chaotic uproar.
Meanwhile, Zico's "Give Me a Minute" will release its first episode on July 29 at 7 p.m. KST.
