Jennie Having No Rap Parts in BLACKPINK 'Ready for Love' Sparks Intense Discussion
On July 29, BLACKPINK finally released the music video for their unreleased song "Ready for Love" in collaboration with PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) Mobile. The quartet first premiered the track at the in-game concert "The Virtual."
BLINKs have been awaiting the full version of BLACKPINK's "Ready for Love" after being briefly featured in the group's Netflix documentary "BLACKPINK: Light Up the Sky" in October 2020.

The aesthetic music video has a fantasy setting and presents the girl group's realistic three-dimensional avatars singing and dancing to "Ready for Love." Besides the avatars, the members' unmatched vocals are also worth praising.
While some fans were satisfied with the song, others were disappointed in the distribution of parts. In particular, one fan questioned why Jennie doesn't have any rap parts even if she's BLACKPINK's main rapper.
Since her debut, Jennie has been showcasing her incredible rapping skills in their songs, such as "BOOMBAYAH," "Whistle," "Stay," "DDU-DU DDU-DU," and "Forever Young," to name a few. She also had rap parts in her solo debut track "SOLO."

But, it is also noticeable that she didn't get rap parts in several of BLACKPINK's songs, including "Playing With Fire," "As If It's Your Last," "REALLY," "How You Like That," and "Ice Cream," among others.
In the popular online forum TheQoo, the fan made a post titled "Shouldn't we protest for the lack of rap Jennie is getting?"
"Honestly, she's the main rapper, and it's true that they're being discriminatory by not giving her any rap. Why are Korean fans so earnest at shielding YG?? We don't need to be as dramatic as the SEA fans, but shouldn't we also protest about the discrimination?
Honestly, I feel bad for Jennie. Lisa's SEA fans have been tormenting Jennie for years because of her outfits. But Jennie's fans can't help but stay silent," the BLINK said.

"No matter how they try to shield the company, she's still the main rapper. Of course, having no rap parts is considered discrimination."
"Honestly, it's a shame that Jennie didn't have any rap parts. But if the Korean fans complain, the fandom will just be lit on fire. That's why Jennie's fans are holding back."
"What pisses me off more is that Jennie's fans are annoyed because she doesn't have any rap parts, but Lisa's fans are claiming that it's because Lisa is a better rapper, so she got all the rap parts."
