K-pop enthusiasts are one of the most powerful and devoted fans of music. In fact, K-pop fandoms dominate the industry with their unyielding support and love for their favorite idols. So it's not a surprise that K-pop groups and solo artists are very influential, especially the more popular a group is. A good example of this is when an item goes out of stock or sees a rise in sales after their bias shows it off!
With that, here are some of the K-pop idols who unintentionally caused items to sell out!
1. EXO D.O - doenjang
During a live broadcast held back in 2016, EXO member D.O showed off his cooking skills to the world. In particular, D.O was seen using a specific doenjang (Korean soybean paste) brand. Although he wasn't sponsored or paid to advertise the doenjang, he recommended that certain brand for its fantastic flavor. Not long after the live broadcast, the doenjang used by D.O immediately went out of stock, with many fans instantly messaging their mothers to use it!
2. MAMAMOO Hwasa - gopchang
When Hwasa appeared on MBC's reality program "I Live Alone," an episode featured the MAMAMOO member heading to a gopchang (small intestines) restaurant. She held an impromptu mukbang (eating broadcast) of gopchang, which led many people to crave the dish and head to restaurants to try out the food themselves. Because of this, she unintentionally caused a national shortage of gopchang!

3. Son Naeun - adidas leggings
In 2014, Adida's popular three-stripe leggings suddenly became a hit among young Koreans - all thanks to Son Naeun! The former Apink member had flaunted the item in the dance practice video for the group's song "LUV," where she wore the Adidas leggings with a plain black t-shirt. With how good it looked on Son Naeun, Korean immediately copped the item!
4. BIGBANG G-Dragon - Vans sneakers
G-Dragon once shared a photo of his worn-out Vans sneakers, and fans were quick to head over to the brand's offline and online stores to snag a pair of their own same sneakers, which was Vans' "Style 36." G-Dragon also unintentionally caused other Vans shoes to go out of stock, like the "Sk8-HI" and "Old Skool" designs.
