On August 2, an article about NewJeans member Danielle's past was shared on the Korean online community forum TheQoo. The post garnered much attention due to the idol's surprising pre-debut life.

In the post, the user revealed that when Danielle was a child, she was a regular member of the tvN entertainment program "Rainbow Kindergarten."
The show was broadcast in 2011.
Many were shocked that the idol was a part of the show. Several internet users commented that they had watched the show and enjoyed seeing Danielle on the program. Others commented that she looks the same as she was when she was a child.

On July 22, NewJeans released the song and music video for their pre-release single, "Attention." The song was released without any promotion or information on the group's line-up and was a surprise release.
