On August 10, an Instagram account gained huge attention after a letter from Kim Garam was posted. The username @/y__urm claimed that she's a friend of the idol, and she was posting on behalf of her who doesn't have a personal Instagram.

Here's the Full Text of Kim Garam's Statement:

"Hello, this is Kim Garam.

First of all, I want to say sorry. I know it's too late, but I haven't had a chance to tell you my position.

Since I worked hard for my dream, it was true that I was honestly afraid that my past actions would break it to pieces. But as the days went by, a lot of criticism against me got me scarier.

And if I get a chance, I want to really tell you my position;

1. I've never hit anyone or used violence
2. I've never been forced to transfer school
3. I've never drunk or smoked
4. I've never bullied or ostracized anyone
5. I was just a normal student

The Autonomous Committee for Countermeasures against School Violence incident took place between March and May of middle school when Yoo Eun Seo uploaded a photo of my friend wearing only underwear and her (Yoo) friends talking behind her (Garam's friend) back.

I started arguing with Yoo Eun Seo because I thought I was helping my friend who was the victim, and in the meantime, I started swearing.

At that time, I didn't realize the difference between the majority and the minority at all, so I didn't think that arguing with Yoo Eun Seo was wrong.

At that time, I thought it was a duty to help the victim, and I didn't know the seriousness of the situation because I thought our actions felt only encouraging. Looking back, I was very immature and childish.

At that time, friendship was the most important thing for me and I enjoyed my time with my friends the most.

My methods at that time were wrong and there were many mistakes and clumsy actions, but I don't want to hate myself for that time.

My parents often told me not to pretend not to know a friend who needs help and is in trouble, and I still hold that principle to this moment.

I'm trying to work and live harder so that my future life can shine. I fought for my dreams to debut. Two weeks after my debut, it was like a dream for me, but I will remember it as a time that I will never forget.

I'm going to try my best to become a better person. And thank you to my precious fans for loving and supporting me. I was able to endure it thanks to the constant support from the fans. I'll do my best.

Thank you for reading the long article."
