Kep1er Matches BTS & TWICE's Historic Achievement on Billboard Japan With 'WA DA DA'
On Aug. 10, Billboard Japan officially announced that the number of cumulative streams of Kep1er's "WA DA DA" on the Streaming Songs chart has exceeded 100 million.
With this latest feat, Kep1er has become the first fourth-generation group- and the only one, to date- to reach the milestone. They are also now the only third K-pop artist and the second K-pop girl group to have at least one song to garner 100 million streams on the Billboard Japan chart in history.

What's more impressive is that Kep1er managed to accumulate 100 million streams with their debut song. BTS first achieved the feat in November 2020 with their first English song "Dynamite," while the first time TWICE attained the milestone was in January 2021 with their 2019 song "Feel Special."
So far, BTS has 10 songs that hit 100 million streams on Billboard Japan, while TWICE has five songs. They are the only two artists in the world with multiple tracks that reached the mark.
Meanwhile, Kep1er joins Billie Eilish, Ed Sheeran, and Justin Bieber & The Kid Laroi as the artist with one song that gained 100 million streams.

"Fly-Up" will come after their second Korean mini-album "DOUBLAST," which arrived on June 20. The mini-album features the title track "Up!" and four other new songs. "Up!" is a summery song that combines soulful house genres and rhythmical funk house. The lyrics express the group's journey toward their dreams.
In the first week of its release (June 20 to 26), Kep1er's "DOUBLAST" sold a total of 287,109 copies. The band not only broke their personal record for highest first-week sales, but they have also become the seventh top-selling K-pop girl group in the first week, following BLACKPINK, Red Velvet, IZ*ONE, IVE, TWICE, and LE SSERAFIM.
