TikTok has become one of the most popular social media apps today, with millions of people around the world creating various video content using tunes by artists in different genres, including K-pop songs. TikTok videos range from challenges (either singing or dancing), remixes, ASMR, and more.
In particular, some K-pop tracks were used in some clips, which have since gone viral for hilarious reasons.
Here are a few K-pop songs that don't sound the same way anymore because of their funny TikTok videos.
5 K-pop Songs That Got 'Ruined' by TikTok:
Red Velvet - "Psycho"
Released back in December 2019, "Psycho" is one of the hit songs by Red Velvet. It swept various major real-time charts in South Korea immediately after its release. It even achieved certified all-kill.
The song is particularly famous for the amazing vocals of the members in the introduction. Thus, one of the "Psycho" challenges on TikTok is to sing the intro. While some slayed the challenge, others failed to do so.

TikTok user @boopology, in particular, failed to do the "Psycho" intro challenge. Her voice cracked at the very beginning of the song, and she couldn't help but laugh and apologize at the end of the clip. Because of this, fans can't listen to Red Velvet's "Psycho" without laughing at the start of the song because the user boopology's voice crack now lingers in everyone's mind.
BTS - "Stay Gold"
BTS' "Stay Gold" is another K-pop song that got "ruined" by TikTok. It is known for having its "Off-Key" version, where you can expect the voices of the members being out of tune. While the "Off-Key" version became known on TikTok, it was originally uploaded to YouTube by LambAgar YT back in 2020.

Like the "Psycho" voice crack, fans can't hear BTS' "Stay Gold" in the same way as they always tend to remember the song's off-key rendition.
IU - "LILAC"
"LILAC" is no doubt one of the masterpieces from top female soloist IU. However, it doesn't sound right to some fans anymore as a CupcakKe remix of the song was released. One TikTok user who uploaded a CupcakKe remix of IU's "LILAC" even wrote in the caption, "A lot of people [are] traumatized by this."

For starters, a CupcakKe remix is a remix of any of CupcakKe's songs that has been edited to sound like the style of another track.

BLACKPINK's "BOOMBAYAH" is another K-pop song that was ruined by TikTok, but not in the same way as the tunes above.
In the 2016 track's case, Jennie's rap part at the beginning was slowed down and combined with the instrumental of a Filipino rap song titled "Kabet."
NCT U - "90's Love"
The last song on our list is NCT U's "90's Love." Like in the funny TikTok version of "BOOMBAYAH," the rap part in "90's Love" was also combined with a different song.
In particular, Sungchan's rap part was mixed with Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" from the popular movie "Titanic."
